I like ot so far, but I nevr had the iPhone app so don't feel ripped off. Layout is more intuitive than IM+., although the ability to put wallpaper in a single pane only is a bit of a head-scratcher, it's not like it's really possible to make that look cool. I do like the ability to merge your contacts and do meta-chat (selects IM or SMS depending on their status). A friend with beejive and i have gotten things set up pretty seamlessly.

My issue is that things like IM programs cost money in the first place. I know there is a cost involved to developing things for the app store, but on OSX for example there are plenty of great IM apps (like Adium) that are fully featured and free.

I did however pay for the iphone version but won't pay again for the ipad one. Personally I find it quicker to type on the iphone with thumb typing and dont need to have an IM session open on each device I own. Aside from that, the AIM app for the ipad is very good and lets you use facebook chat too. It's fast, and without ads.

IM programs on the iPhone / iPad require the developer to have a pretty massive setup of servers. They are the ones maintaining all of your connections to the server. The app itself only connects to beejives server. This is much different than a normal application running on os x or windows. So there are much more costs than just developing the app itself.

I was waiting for this, but sadly I think it's rushed and needs work. I mean they couldn't even spell iPod touch right in their description (unless there's something called the iPad touch that I didn't hear about somehow.)

I bought the im+ aim last week and. Hate it. It has a TON bugs, and all day.

I'm still trying to get a refund for it.

Please find a better one. I'm gonna buy the beejive to try it soon today.

Everyone like it a lot?

Thanks!! :)
