(May 6th) - going to see Sevendust this Saturday in PA. So fired up for it.

(May 9th) EDIT: Show was last night. Got right up to the stage. We had fun but i don't think they sound that awesome live. It was in a small venue so it could have been that. I was squashed up against a hot chick the entire night, so....that made it all worth while. Yeah!

Last one was Wonder: A Scientific Oratorio by the BBC orchestra. Was brilliant.

Saw Eric Clapton out at DTE Energy Music Theatre (Pine Knob) on Saturday night. Rodger Daltrey opened for him. I've been to bigger and more expensive concerts, but I have to say that this was by far the best concert that I've ever been to. Even though we had lawn seats, there was something that made the concert feel intimate. It was just a great night.

I wish Clapton would have played "My Father's Eyes" but unfortunately he retired that song a few years back.

I wouldn't hesitate to see him again. He's a great musician.

Going to see Santana this Saturday, Tally Hall next Thursday, and then I'm going to see Sting next Saturday. So this will be a fairly packed month for concerts.

Saw Weird Al Yankovic at the Warner Theater in D.C. a while back. He's absolutely amazing.

If the weather's nice, the wife and I are thinking of boing to Barenaked Ladies when they'll be at Merriweather Post.

I got a birthday surprise, and went to see the Carole King/James Taylor - Troubadour Reunion Tour in Cleveland on July 7th. It was a wonderful concert. I didn't have the best seats, but the concert was still great it. Tomorrow is Santana:) I got to stalk James Taylor's tour bus for over 150 miles on the Ohio Turnpike after the concert, he literally waved at me when I held the poster from the concert out my window.

@Hoppesangen- You need to go see a concert that has real music. No offense, but you're one of those recording industry tools who buys into whatever act the executives say will be "the next big thing". Lady Gaga has nothing on the likes of Clapton, James Taylor, Carole King, Elton John, etc.

People who use auto tune are not musicians.

Have not been to a concert in quite some time, but I will be going to the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festivel next weekend. Lamb of God, Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, Chimaira and a few others. A bonus with that show is I don't even like the 2 headliners so I will get to go home early.

In the future I would love to go and see Coldplay. It would be awesome. Has anyone else ever been to see them?

Stone Temple Pilots in London about two weeks ago, but the sound was terrible. The event was in Brixton and they shouldn't have any musical act there - the acoustics of the building is not acceptable.

I missed a Stevie Wonder concert on the same week. I had too much work. Maybe next time... :(

Saw Rob Schneider at D.C. Improv a few weeks back. It was my first stand-up show that I remember (saw Dane Cook front row in A.C., but was too bombed off of Johnny Walker) and I will be attending more. I'm going to go see Bobby Lee at the same venue in Oct. for my Birthday. Also, bought tickets to see Lewis Black at the Warner Theatre here in D.C.

I much prefer comedy to concerts, but I did get tickets to see Dave Matthews/Zac Brown Band at Nat's Stadium.

And people who don't write their own lyrics or music are simply performers. Plenty of actors out there.

Speaking of true musicians/lyricists: I'm taking my kids (16 and 11) to see the Indigo Girls in a 70 seat theater this coming week. It will be the fourth time I've seen them in two years.

Jeez my first post an I'm called a tool already thanks. How about I like what I like and you stick with what you like. Lady GaGa was great singing live and she did not use autotune in her show. People just assume because Lady GaGa is a pop star she has no talent and does everything for money, I know you havent gone/wont go to her show but I really got a new found respect for her after that. Anyway I wont take anything you say to heart because the only opinions that matter to me are of those I respect, and after your ignorant comment and name calling, I don't think I can respect you.

Scorpions in Nashville

Saw the Scorpions last night and it was a fantastic show, they still rock!

Next weekend, it's Iron Maiden with Dream Theater in Chicago!!! :D

I saw them in 2001. Not my favorite band by any stretch, but a pretty decent live show. Glad I at least got to see them at a smaller venue than they'd play nowadays.

Last live show I saw was Pavement a few weeks ago. It was another "righting a wrong" evening for me as for some reason I never saw them back in the 90s. There was even a little Gary Young cameo, so it was a complete reunion.

I saw Tally Hall at the Ann Arbor Art Fair yesterday (Friday). It was a good concert, but because of the thunderstorms, it got moved inside of Pizza House, so it was ungodly cramped (250-400 people in a 30 x 30 room). I was closer to my friends than I ever want to be again, lol. I did get an album signed by 4 out of 5 members of the band though, the fifth member isn't touring with them though.

Sedated (Ramones Tribute)

I went to see a Ramones tribute, they are called Sedated. I have seen them quite a few times, and they sure do a real good job. They even dress up like them. They are an awesome group of guys. Will be going to see them again in the coming months, and then Green Day in August.

Saw Sammy Hagar tonight. Not really what I normally listen to but it was a great show never the less.
