LOL after my first drive with the leather case I got this. I thought I get a circle over time (like apple showed on their website) but this was after 1 ride

I see this as a positive! It shows the magnets must be pretty strong, time to buy for me!

I wonder what it would do to a naked phone with the glass. Assuming nothing like leather because the material is hard in comparison so shouldn't take any kind of abuse magnetized to it.

Finally a local Apple Store had one today so I grabbed it!!

I just got mine today and only played with it a little bit. My initial impression is that the magnets will hold my naked iPhone 12 Pro just fine. The issue I'm having (but that I have to explore more) is that with the phone attached the vent clip does not seem to stay on my air vent (Jeep Wrangler). I'm not sure if I'll have to do some kind of mod for this to work.

I ordered a couple weeks ago with an ETA of Feb 2nd. However I’ve just had a dispatched email with delivery now in two days time, so 6 weeks early. Very handy!

I just returned mine last week, it was decent but for the price it just didn't make sense because you don't have the ability to charge your phone. Granted I don't have wireless CarPlay so I have to plug in my phone anyway but for that price I feel it should at least be an option (for my wife, etc). Pitaka has that option and its only $10 more. Also the Belkin holder was just too large and out of place for me plus it only comes in white and the interior of my Audi is all black so I hated the look.

For my vent holder it wasn't working well at first but once I used only the bottom vent slat it was fine. When I tried to use the middle or top vent slats the weight of the holder and 12 Pro Max would make it sag and come off a lot when I pulled off the phone. For some reason being on the very bottom slat allowed it to not sag and it didn't come off when I grabbed my phone.

Definitely not a bad product, just not for me.

Been using the clear case (so as to avoid the imprint on the back) with the 12 Pro Max. It doesn’t fall, it doesn’t move, and I can switch orientations easily as well. I wouldn’t use a charging mount either way since I need to have it plugged for CarPlay.

Had an online order shipping at the end of the month but coincidentally saw it in stock at a local Apple store and got it there instead.

I'm keeping mine. I have wired CarPlay as well, so no need for wireless charging (and most times I don't charge my phone when driving anyway). I solved my vent problem by stacking a few chair foot pads in the bottom of the vent so the louvers stay horizontal.

Well the picture on the Apple site of the circular pattern is coming from the circular MagSafe charger.
Pretty sure this wouldn’t leave a circle seeing its a rectangle. 😉

Well, mine arrived today a full 6 weeks ahead of the scheduled delivery date!

Solid build although between two cars it fits better in the one it isn’t needed in, as that one has CarPlay.

In the CarPlayless vehicle there are round vents and it ‘just’ attaches to the lower or upper slate on the vent...juuuust.

It makes sense to me to not charge the phone, as you’d still need a cable running up to the mount regardless (and that’s before we even consider wired CarPlay). I get there’s 2 seconds of inconvenience to plug the charger in to the phone but that’s hardly an issue. And to be honest, I like that I don’t ‘have’ to charge the phone constantly when it’s in the car anyway.

Maybe a second charging option would be good though, just to please everyone.
