Hilarious item & price, can't blame Belkin though, it's very in-line with the apple consumer profile they are targeting this to.

How can you not afford a 60 dollar purchase after you've blown away over a grand on the phone? Perhaps you should prioritize your expenses if you can't afford 'nice things' ?

For once, I agree with you, because the whole idea of people complaining about $60 after blowing a grand really does actually sound preposterous to me as well.

Way too expensive. I don't do those nameless rebranded stuff because they don't have oleophobic coatings, but even a name branded one like Spigen costs only $12 for two of them. Latter comes with an easy install guide, quality wipes, and has a nice oleophobic coating that lasts a few months.

Also that $40 screen protector Belkin sells at the Apple Store (without the back piece) is only $17 on Amazon, go figure.

Peanuts when you've spent over a grand on an overglorified phone.

I don't see what the problem here is.

The problem is you're overpaying for a screen protector. By your metric, if I pay $100k for my car I should be ripped off when I buy tints vs a $50k car?

Don't kid yourself. This isn't insurance; it's an consumable accessory.

Had mine for 9 months and the oleophobic coating is still as good as new.You must have a dodgy one.

I was using them almost exclusively for a few months on an iPhone 7 Plus and an SE. They both wore out.

Live in reality much?

Yeah, and that's why I've used a screen protector on every phone I've owned since the iPhone 3G.

Apple has machines to apply it. Though I wonder if it would work with the glass covers.

...the Belkin screen protectors are glass. So yes, it does work with them. The piece you see the salesperson or genius pulling out is a plastic backing. The same plastic backing that if you were applying a screen protector at home, would have a tab with the number 1 on it.

Then stop buying Apple products and you won't be ripped off.

Problem solved.
