Saw on a program about obesity a while ago that one of the original owners of Ben & Jerry's (dunno which) died of a heart attack aged 40 something. They had one of there sons on who got really really ill when he was young as they had a huge freezer at home with all the types of ice cream in and he used to eat it all the time. He developed a nutrient deficancy and doesn't eat the stuff anymore as docs told him he would develop diabities if he kept eating the amount he was.

Wish I could remember the name of the programme now.

Still, give me Britney Spears covered in Phish Food and I'd be a happy man!

Interesting. Was it ANOTHER owner-- silent partner/investor that died? Both Ben and Jerry are still alive. Although I do believe that one of them has had major heart surgery.

Come to think of it the story you're telling sounds familiar. But I don't think it was Ben and Jerry's. I think it was Baskin-Robbins.

Anyways, I see they have Black & Tan as a flavor now. I'm not a fan of Bass, but I do love Guinness. And this one is in the same line. Maybe I have a liquor-flavored-ice-cream problem...

I love Black and Tan's but I usually have mine without bass and a local microbrew instead.

I have alway said Guiness is like drinking chocolate milk- only with a buzz!

I'm a simple man - I love cookies-n-cream (vanilla ice cream with oreo cookies). It's what I get 99.99999% of the time if I have that option.

It was BR...it's been over a year, but if I remember right it is on the Super Size Me DVD. Check either the movie or one of the special features, I'm not sure which.

Wait...as a home-brewer, a Guinness fanatic, Ireland tourist AND a one time Ben & Jerry's taste tester (amateur that filled out mail in surveys), I humbly request that someone find out how much it would cost to have this pint delivered to me from their local store...while I check the B&J site for the same info!

Ben & Jerry's have such a strong ethical thing going on, can someone tell me why they don't use organic ingredients?

I usually have Green & Blacks' organic chocolate ice-cream - rich, dark, sinful and the same price as Ben & Jerry's.

I have only had it once, but pHish food is delicious!! That black and tan looks good to.

At home I have the low fat brownie frozen yogurt which I think it is pretty good. In Princeton and New Brunswick everyone goes to Thomas Sweet.
