I talked to my sister last night. She had the iPhone 5 since it came out, no bending issues. She's had the iPhone 6 (edit: she has an iPhone 6 Plus) for 3 days, clear bend at the volume button.

You can try your best to demand that this story go away since other phones bend to a degree, but that's a very disingenuous attempt at false equivalency. To deny the iPhone 6 is vastly more susceptible to bending than previous iPhone models is flat out dishonest. We're all Apple fans here but lets not get too carried away. This is a very real problem and the notion that 'you're dressing wrong' or 'you're sitting wrong' isn't going to fly for most people. Nobody should have to change their wardrobe in order not to damage their phone.

CultofMac... that's not objective journalism. They're fanboys.

Look at that test that went viral about the iPhone 6 Plus vs. the Note 3. It's undeniable. The guy bent the 6 Plus with his hands and it happened fairly quickly. The Note 3 passed with flying colors even after multiple attempts it didn't bend.

iPhones have traditionally been too fragile but the new ones appear even more so. Aluminum may not be the optimal material anymore Apple...

The people denying bend gate will start to realize after a couple days/weeks. This is insane. I was skeptical at first too, then took the stairs to work this morning, and then I took my 6+ out of my pocket... a slight but noticeable curve ugh..

Even something as ordinary as taking the stairs apparently puts enough pressure on the phone to cause bending

I know this is mind blowing but here's a tip: Stop wearing tight hipster pants and use a normal fit or using back pockets where the pocket curves due to the butt.
And no I don't have a physics degree just plain old common sense.

Stop being an ignorant *** and look up the fact that the reported issue came from users having it in their front pocket. It's laughable that you actually believe people should be wearing different pants in order to not bend their phones. To blindly defend this in that matter is honestly mind-blowingnly scary.

Well people are acting like the new phones bend like pop tarts.

Pop tarts don't bend, they break. And they're much more delicious.

And please, don't put your iPhone in the toaster.

so now Apple apollogists will be bending every phone they can get their hands on just to say "you see, iphone isnt the only one!":D

More new threads keeping the topic alive. lol

If it was only a few phones, then it'd die down if not for the fact some of you can't help yourselves to defend your precious. I find that a little amusing. :D

I'm sure it'll continue to be investigated and tested over the coming weeks.

It IS just a few phones. These things are always blown way out of proportion by a few people making a lot of noise.

It might be a "few" phones, but Apple has made the problem worse by not replacing those phones.

Its entirely possible there was a bad batch of phones. That bad batch of phones which are susceptible to bending. Rather than dismissing those people who suffer from bending, they should replace their phones and get to the bottom of the problem.

No phone should bend this much after 5 days.

It doesn't that is the phone I have now why I wait for my iPhone 6 + to come which I am much less enthusiatic about now...

Getting a case like a spigen or something thats more rigid will probably make it not bend you can try that if the thickness and extra size doesn't bother you.

Is it true that Apple is not replacing bent phones? Apple is replacing, exchanging, accepting returns on so many phones right now I can't imagine that they wouldn't replace a few bent ones.

I've read people complaining that Apple is charging to replace the phone.

I don't understand why you are defending Apple. This is unacceptable. Apple has the best engineering team. They could have easily fixed it.

Bro you sound desperate. One person with a bent M8 versus a lot more unhappy iPhone 6 plus owners is nothing to scoff at. Why didn't Apple just reinforce it somehow so it doesn't bend, making it better than any other phone out there, construction-wise? I don't think I like the direction things are headed, nor do I believe its something consumers should try to defend for a multibillion dollar company (I'm talking RAM and the existence of 16 gb models as well).

Checkmate:

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to prove. Yes other phones bend but with SIGNIFICANTLY MORE PRESSURE applied to them. I am fairly certain under everyday circumstances that any other phone would not bend simply from being in your pocket. The iPhone 6 plus shouldn't be the exception.

How can a phone bend just sitting in your front shirt pocket as some people are saying?
