Yeah, this has been a repeated scenario. My guess is bent out of the box or bent putting in/out of the case. Really don't see it happening with the case on.
But the biggest issue here is that Apple is denying the claim. Apple needs to get their **** together and figure out where they stand. They either state there is an issue and in some rare cases this phone will bend and they are happy to give exchanges for these. Or deny all bending claims because their stand is that the phone simply cannot bend without excessive damage to the phone.
Jony has gone too far down the path of making these phones supposed works of art imho.
Yet what incentive is there for Apple to deviate from this strategy when they've sold 40 to 50 million iPhone 6's in the last quarter?
If a few tens, hundreds, thousands of people return their phone's bent then what do they care? To them it's simply a cost of doing business.
But I feel it's a cost that will come to hurt them longer term as I've seen many times already since the iPhone 6 launched complete tech neophyte's talking about whether the phone bends. It may not be a big deal to Apple in terms of raw numbers, but when one of the pillars of the Apple brand (build quality) is brought into question, eventually there will be a price to be paid.
