the bend won't really affect ur applecare.

for example, if ur battery died prematurely or ur logic board/optical drive fails, it will still be covered under applecare.

Not true. If you read your terms and conditions, any damage that is caused by a drop or impact is also not covered. That's not the full limitation either, but it's the relevant one. In addition, I have posted personal experience as an Apple Tech of having repairs rejected for less significant damage than this. Please don't spread misinformation.

Exceptions to the repair policy for damage like this are few and far between, btw. If you've gotten one, good for you, but the chances of that happening are exceptionally slim. Apple knows that they have no responsibility for damages like this.

You are correct a friend of mine sadly had to experience this as he could' prove that the bend was not created by him.

Unless it was caused by the repair shop (in which case that really sucks, and they should've covered it), then it doesn't matter if he caused it, as long as it wasn't a factory defect. As long as it's not Apple's fault, they have no responsibility to fix it.
