Best 11" MacBook Air Sleeve

just bought my MBA 11"! (WHEW!)

i also got Speck's satin case, but i'm going to be carrying my MBA in my backpack. granted, my backpack does have a separate compartment/pocket for laptops, i still want some protection from all my heavy textbooks. i'm not laying down these books on top of the MBA, but i'm worried i may warp the body just from continuous bumping while walking with the backpack on.

can anyone recommend a vertical sleeve roomy enough to fit a Speck encased MBA and also sturdy enough to handle the book collisions?

I don't have any experience with this one personally, but when I was deciding which case to get, I was between the Booq Vyper and the Be.ez LA Robe Allure (Link). It seems sturdier and thicker than the average sleeve, but not quite the hard shelled case that I was looking for, despite all its good reviews.

that one looks like a winner to me. especially since it's vertical opening and can be accessed easily from my backpack.

do you think it'll fit a MBA with the Speck case on? I know the Speck satin case is thin, but I'm not sure how thin.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I would imagine that it would, since its not a rigid material and should stretch to fit, but it might be tight. Maybe someone else here who has tried this case could give their opinion.
 
update:

i decided on LA Robe Allure to keep my Speck Satin/MBA in.

Without the satin case, the MBA slides easily into Allure's sleeve.
With the case, it's not as easy but still fits safely. More snug.

Overall, Speck's satin case and Allure sleeve are a great combination.
I'd recommend them both to anyone.

I have the horizontal version but there's an untype sleeve with a felt only vertical slide in that looks pretty cool. I prefer the horizontal one as it has a leather strap, but to each their own :)

#2 and #3 are not sized for the 11" MBA. #1 and #4 are hideous, in my opinion.

That said, I will never purchase from DealExtreme again. About a year ago or so, I bought a very expensive box set of 007 DVDs from them (21 movies), thinking I was saving a bit, but I ended up getting cheap chinese bootlegs, half of which don't even play in any of my DVD players (and they show as corrupted on my computer). DealExtreme never replied to a single email, they've got terrible customer service. Stay away from them!

Very unlikely, since the MBA is considerably thinner than most 12.1" notebooks/netbooks. You have to consider more than just screen size here, because the MBA will fit VERY loosely in a generic case made to fit even the thickest 12.1" laptop.

I had previously purchased a case from Amazon (which I returned) that said it will "fit all 11 inch" laptops, and it was way too big for the 11" MBA. Better to spend a little more and get something that fits it perfectly. Look thru this thread, there's a number of great suggestions.

Edit: since you're looking for a sleeve, take a look at this one - Link. Its a little more expensive than the 7.60 one you're looking at, but the fit and protection could be worth it, depending on your needs.

sfbags. I get many compliments on the bag with the leather trim. People think I am carrying an iPad but I have full 11" air

I tried Case logic 11.6" and 12.1" cases, both of them were too narrow to fit the Air.
 
I have just found this case on ebay: ebay link

The article under it looks quite good and it is fairly priced. Has anyone tried it? Any comments on it?

If I don't go for the above one I am also considering these ones, but they are more pricey:
Urbano Leather Sleeve
Viper Hardcase
Bookbook case
Leather Incase

I am after something leather and fairly sturdy. What are your recommendations on the above? Thanks
