+2 for Crucial. :)

+3

I've used Corsair in my PCs for years and it's excellent. We also use it at work and only ever had a couple of sticks out of many hundreds fail. I've not used it long term in a Mac so would always favour Crucial for the extra couple of £/$.

I bought the Cosair about 2 months ago when it came on sale on Amazon for around $38. Took me more time to screw the screws than to actually install the RAM. Extremely easy process and well worth the money I paid.

I would also recommend Crucial, very reliable memory from my experience. My 8 GB upgrade cost me $69.95 after sales taxes and it only took me about 5 minutes in total to perform the upgrade; it's an excellent bang for your buck.

I am going to get some 8GB memory for my early 2011 MBP. Why pay $200 from apple when you can DIY for $50... I just need to save up!

I just went and bought 2 separate SO-DIMM DDR3, 4gb, PC3-10600, 1333МГц, Samsung Original for $28 each. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. After ~3 weeks of heavy use all is working well and I also ran 3 passes of memtest on it.

You're aware that 16GB may not be supported by some models of MPB, right? I would suggest you check the specs of your model to ensure it will fall into the maximum allowable.

Best brand is the one on sale/has rebate at that time :D

Serious note, have had good personal experience with Crucial and Corsair.

didn't know that but I'd sure hope mine does.... Just got it from the refurbished apple store and its a FEB 2011 model I believe.

...especially when they write that they know there are lots of existing threads already, but couldn't be bothered looking them up first.

In defense of those who do this...

...the search engine here on MR really sucks if you want to hone in on something specific.
