what's the best app to use for a grocery list that i can tick off on my watch as i shop??

thanx!

I used Listastic yesterday & loved it!!! Also when I thought of something new I just told it to the watch & it added it. Perfect & simple!!

I have not shopped with it yet but I have just installed SavouryList. In testing, it updates the watch list as quickly as you tap it.

I'm going to look into Listastic too just for comparison.

I'm using Wunderlist - works well on the watch. I like that lists can be shared with other people too. I've not used list apps before but this one was simple and effective.

I like buy me a pie. It synchs to both my, and my wife's, laptop and iPhones. ...

Do you think the functionality justifies the $25 purchase price? I'm a little wary of this developer since the reviews of Classic version detail people paying to remove the ads but only to have them return later. I don't mind paying a decent amount for a really useful app but this seems pretty steep just to have a grocery list.

I use the free version.

I use the free version.

I'm using the free version of BuyMeAPie too.

I tried a few different list apps, but I liked this one because a "type" can be assigned to the item. The app automatically groups the list by type, so the veggies and so forth are listed next to one another.

Evernote. One app, many uses. Functionality aside it also helps to prevent app clutter on your AW.

I'm very interested in this app as Anylist, my grocery list app of choice does not yet support the Watch (I'm also not too keen of the subscription model).

Can you tell me how well this works? Is it only a one time purchase? How is list syncing with others? How did you use your voice to add the item?

Thought I'd do a cheap plug for my app :D

My Recipes has a ton of features, may be overkill for just grocery lists. But having said that the grocery lists in My Recipes along with timers and so on are all available on  Watch.
You can share lists by email or iMessage and the new update I've just submitted allows you to add shops using dictation on the watch and you can then dictate a list of items to be added to the shop as well.

Oh and after purchase, any and all updates and new features are always free. There are no in-app purchases.

There's a post further down here somewhere with screens and more details.

Link?

I'll check it out.

I have the Pro version of Buy Me A Pie, but I did not pay $25 for it. Looking at the price history of the App, they recently increased the price of the App (from $2.99). I think they did this to discourage people from buying it at the moment as a new version is about to be released.

I emailed the developer (regarding Apple Watch support earlier this week) and told me a new version is on the way and will be released soon.

Edit: Buy Me a Pie is a great app which I use all the time, but it is not worth $25 if they really are intending this to be the new price point. It was great for $2.99

Clear is great!

I use Clear and love it! Simple, elegant and colorful!
I also have it on my iPhone, iPad and iMac and now my Apple Watch.
They all stay in sync :D

I use wunderlist for all my todos and it works well. Glad I don't have to pull out my phone while driving the grocery cart any longer.

Sorry I'm answering so late. Yes...it is a one time purchase. I have it on my phone & iPad. It has a microphone so you just tell it what you want. It works great. I have 4 different lists now...

I decided to give Listastic a try as its the only app I've seen that allows items to be added from the watch. However, it doesn't seem possible to have it in Glances? Is there some setting I'm missing? Its a bit of a nuisance to have to hunt for it in all the apps.

I really wish it was in Glances also. I rearranged my Apps so Listastic is right next to the clock so it is easy to find. I never have a problem. Hoping they will add it to Glances.

i've been playing around with clear since i already had the app (but had never used it) and up next (since it uses my reminders i already have and use)

i love that with clear i can add stuff to the lists by using using force press then dicating...

likewise i like that i can add items to my reminders via up next.. using the + (add item) within that list... (plus i can use hey siri to add stuff to my existing lists)

i downloaded the free version of buy me a pie (love Love LOVE the name! lol!) but i haven't found a way to add anything to its lists from the watch... so unless i'm missing something... BMAP won't be my shopping app of choice!

for now, for me, it's going to boil down to: (1) clear as a whole new app just for shopping or (2) use up next and use the lists i already have in place...

I recommend Bring! not only does it have apple watch glances, you can add people to lists so you can update shopping lists between the groups and can also send push messages to say list is updated and also let people know you've got everything on the list all via push notification
