Nice. I had to match the $999 price last weekend from $1049. Had the $50 off student discount which brought it to $949 final cost after matching it with their own sale price.

No student deal on the $949, or I'd be back over there again.

Here's a deal tip I mentioned in another thread:

Costco sells Applecare+ for the Macbook Air for $199. The SKU at Costco is 1320766. While Costco requires the two to be purchased together, they have them priced individually in the computer. Have BB call your local Costco and verify the price of AppleCare+. Now you can get the Air for $949 and Applecare+ for $199.

How do you get the $50 off student discount? I’m a college student, so I’d love to get even more off if possible. I signed up for the student deal thing. Also, I’m seeing on Costco’s website AppleCare is $230. Is it cheaper in stores?

$50 student discount at BB was a few days ago. For me it was a wash because my final price for the MBA was the same as it is now.

For the AppleCare+, they need to call it in to a store. Web prices are higher than store prices for many items - as they bake shipping into the final price.

I wish Costco sold the 256 models in store. They had the 128s on sale last weekend. And all of them a few weeks earlier but we were out of country that sale and missed it. But the only one you can get in store (at least around here) is the 8/128 space gray model. Everything else is ordered through the website.

...
Anyone know how long this deal is for? Also, I’m wandering if I can get by with the 128GB hard drive? My old mini has 256, but I’m not sure I’ll put everything it has on the new laptop or maybe I’ll use it to replace the mini? Idk. LOL.

If you can swing the extra $200 and won't miss it, get the 256gb. If that $200 could be used for something necessary like bills etc, then don't. I did 512gb on my TB Pro and 256gb on my Air. I could never go lower than 256gb.
[doublepost=1556716719][/doublepost]If anyone has a Microcenter by them, they have a better deal on the 2017 Pro, especially the 256gb model. Best Buy will match it if there's a Microcenter relatively close. Im strongly considering exchanging my Air for the nTB Pro. My daughter has one and the battery life is actually better than my Air and the processor is much better.

Cool. Thanks. I guess it doesn’t matter that it says it can only be purchased at same time as the Mac? It won’t hurt to ask, I suppose. I plan on going over to my store tomorrow if they still have them in stock.

Don't mention it to BB you need to purchase it with a computer. Just mention the price of the AppleCare+. The situation is slightly different than mine last week because BB's price is now lower than that of Costco. If they balk at it, then remind them that it is sold only with a computer - it is not a bundle deal as you can buy the computer without AppleCare+.

Picked up my new MacBook Air today. I had thought I was going to get space grey but when I saw the gold I had to get it. I asked them about the discount for AppleCare at Costco and she said they require you to purchase a computer at the same time you purchase AppleCare and that I had to show my Costco card to get it. I said my mom has a Costco card and I am buying the computer with it, and she told me to hold on. She went and asked someone and was gone for several minutes. She came back and said we normally don't do that, but we will work with you. I said cool thanks. So they ended up taking an extra $50 off the price of the computer and the AppleCare stayed at $249. I didn't even have to get the Costco card to show them.

I am learning how to use a Mac keyboard because my mini I just have an old regular keyboard attached to it. I'm still trying to figure out all the shortcuts and commands the keyboard has, so that may take a while. Also, the keyboard feels nice to type on so far. To me anyway. The only thing I worry about is the cat hair that might affect the keyboard one day, but all in all I am happy with my purchase.

Glad to see they did the discount at least. I'm surprised they did not discount AppleCare, as I would think they had a higher profit margin with that.

Thank you for posting this. I got a MBA today at Best Buy with their sale price and showed them your photo so they took an extra $50 off the computer to “match” the AppleCare + price.

Glad to hear it.

AC+ is expensive - even with the $50 off, it's a tad more than 20% of the current cost of the computer, So I'm happy to share a deal on it when I can find it.
