Just a heads up to anyone on the fence, Best Buy and Target are running Deals again on Apple Watches. Just got my wife the Sport 38mm Rose Gold lavender for Mothers Day.

Yep, this is the third major sale timed with a major holiday as a loss leader strategy for these retailers (the previous sales being held around Christmas and Valentine's Day).

Some of those stainless models were $200 off less than a week ago.

Still, good to see discounts on the sport models too.

At Target all I see are the Sport models are $50 off. not the Stainless, not across the board.

Where were the stainless models on sale? I'm ready to buy one.

Best buy had the space black stainless w/ black sport band and the regular stainless with Milanese loop for $200 off until last monday. Was a pretty good deal for those who bought one. I could have picked up a 42mm SBSS w/ BSB for $399, but chose not to because the wallet couldn't handle the hit at the moment.

I picked up the SS for $200 off a week ago, that was really a good deal. I bought a black milanese band off Amazon for $21, it greatly improves the look of the watch.

I was able to jump on the $200 off Best Buy deal for a SSSB. Used the savings to pick-up the Product Red sports band and black nylon band.

I grabbed a 38mm from BB to replace my 42mm! I guess for a guy I have small wrists and I want something that feels like I'm wearing a watch instead of a gadget on my arm.

The AW is one year old. The latest round of rumors suggest that the next version might only be a minor refresh so it may not be a "fancy AW2."

The fact is the Apple Watch is OLD and has been a long time on sale, and probably has a few months left before being upgraded. We’re at the tail end of its run before being refreshed by an overdue upgrade.

New color options, band varieties, and a price drop make it more compelling right now, but there’s a reward for those who wait. The hardware you buy today, even in rose gold Sport with a Nylon Woven band, is the same hardware introduced a year ago.

Because we are addicted to tech!!! ;)
Yeah, but if you a tech fan and addicted, you would buy it on day one :D :D :D :-*

Is it actually WORTH getting an Apple Watch? I'm back with an iPhone, so SUPER tempted for $300... Honestly it's been years since I wore a watch, and I'm not sure I'd even like having one on all the time. Not sure it actually does anything particularly useful (and it's annoying obviously that the screen can't be on all the time). Not sure I want to have a bluetooth device radio-ing at me all the time for little benefit.

Also not sure when the 'Apple watch 2' is coming out, IF it's coming out...

I've read that everyone should get the 42mm one, not 38, right?

And I think I like the black models best...I like the one with that new "woven nylon band" better than the "space gray sports band"...I guess. It SEEMS like it's a more "normal", less cheap looking band than the plastic-y looking "space gray sports band" that's been available since launch...

Heck, I'm also not sure I want to have to be remembering to charge yet another device every single day!

Wish you could play with them at stores...I'm really not clear on the interface or any thing. I don't really have a GOOD reason to buy one LOL.

Wonder if it continues tracking fitness stuff decently if you DON'T have your iPhone in range... I do like that Microsoft's Band doesn't need a phone all the time.

Wish Apple would waterproof their stuff...

What the heck is the difference in the actual 'watch' part between the 'sport' and the 'regular' ones, save for the band?

^^^ get a room you two :)

Seriously though, I think the prices right now, particularly for refurbed aluminums (easily had in the low/mid $200's) are a compelling buy at the moment. I just got one each for my wife and myself at $240.

If the AW2 or AW's' or whatever comes in September is a compelling upgrade, you're not going to get *that* hurt financially by selling used when you purchase for $240.

I don't know that I'd buy a SS model today given the far higher price - even on sale or refurbed - and ability to get hurt on trade.

Anyone know if you can use two Apple watches with one iPhone? I'm wondering 'cause theoretically I could buy one now, and then if I want the new one, keep the old one to use while walking and whatnot, and care less if it gets wrecked, while I used the new one at work.

Also do you HAVE to have an iPhone with you while walking or whatever for it to do the fitness stuff?

Yes you can use 2 watches with one phone as it was a recent update. And no you don't need the phone but it does provide more accurate tracking within the fitness apps if you will due to GPS and use.

Cool, thanks!

You have it the other way around. You can put any bands on the Sport, but will need to content with a screen that's not impervious to scratches and a much less substantial watch body. You may not care, but many people consider watches to be jewelry and wear them as such.
