Best Buy and Toys R' Us Selling iPads on Sunday

why does everyone complain on who carries the ipad 2??? seriously grow up and realize that its an opportunity for you to get one. if your an average person looking for an ipad the last place you would look is toys r us . that benefits you . i personally work at radioshack and yall complain that radioshack carries it too. stop living in the 80's and think that we have electronic projects that you do every month for your grandson . radioshack offers the best deals with the trade in program ( which i bet most of yall dont even know about ) example : just did this yesterday , traded in a ladies iphone 3gs 16 GB and upgraded to an iphone 4 16GB for $25 . please name someone that can beat that price??? nough said . same thing with the ipad . bring them your old ipad and you pay very little money towards new electronics . of course this is not with EVERY item so dont be that costumer that complains that they get $12 for a beat up HTC hero

woke up hung over at 4am to see the news on here, get back up in time to get up to run over to the local toys r us in Rockville, MD and when i get to Rockville Pike, they have a marathon that partially closes the road, costs me several minutes until can get on the Pike, i get to the toys r us, they just sold the last of their 5 to the guys who got there about a minute before
undeterred and since can't cross the pike anyways due to the run, go to Montgomery Mall just to see what is up at the Apple Store, decent line, they gave out the tickets, got the 16GB Black iPad
leave, on the road i find my rear right wheel well is smoking heavily, i wonder wtf don't panic, let the wind put the fire out, brake pad melted in the process
all for an iPad that isn't even mine, i went to get it for my mother who was too tired to rush out on a whim, i still don't have the cash yet to afford my own

I am a Transplant Physician at a University Hospital. I, and several others at my Medical Center use the iPad to access our Electronic Medical Record at the patients bedside, take notes and access reference material.
The most recent issue of the Mayo Alumni Newsletter focussed on that institution's implementation of mobile technology (specifically iPhones & iPads) in delivering more efficient patient care.
Thanks for the great chuckle! If well-designed minimalist packaging is feminine then Red Green has the prototype of the "man's" version of an iPad. Hint: It comes in duct tape silver and pre-loaded with "Pull my Finger" and "Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards" apps.

I work for a respiratory hospital and we have docs using remote desktop app to connect to our Health Info System and do charting or look up patient data, and loving it. Just because your hospital has not setup the means to do it that's why you see more iPads at Starbucks.

The iPad2 and all the other tablets on the market are primarily media consumption devices. I see no problem with ToysRus or anyone else from carrying it as long as they are a reputable company.
Along those lines, that is where the iPad runs circles around all other tablets out there. They allow one to do it all, from watch your favorite show, listen to music, surf the web, etc... I have a Viewsonic gTablet running (rooted) Android, and it is really great and all, but the entire Android platform lacks the ease of use of the iPad (and the smoothness) and the big name programs like Netflix.
I've been waiting for ANY of my local stores to have iPads in stock and I will be picking one up for my wife, so this is welcome news for me.

sounds amazing, we still use windows xp here which yet most can't even work properly lol and write down everything on paper. hell they still forbid cellphones to be used in the hospital.

They've perfected the art of hiring blowhard sales people who will tell you with conviction things I know aren't true before I even walk into the store. They use marketing techniques that border on the illegal, and reek with sleaziness. They build mega-superstores filled with 89% junk, and small pockets of quality products that you have to mine to find. And they strive for the unwarranted up sell and add-on.
Here's everything you need to know about Best Buy: When they were selling 6 foot HDMI cables for $70, claiming that it cost that much to produce them, I bought a 50 footer on-line for $75. And yes it's still working, five years later. Before anyone jumps on Monster for the overpricing, my on-line distributor told me at the time that he could buy the same Monster cable that BB was selling at $70 for $24. Still too much, for sure. But assuming that BB gets even better volume pricing than him, they were selling it for at least a 200% markup.
Rant complete. I feel better now...

I have to disagree, but I'm on board with you about the front page news. I have to admit I was upset with that silly "jared guy" (or whatever his name was) standing in line for his ipad 2. How in the world is this news?
[BB Code: soapbox] It seems like so much of 'entertainment' or 'news' these days is giving 15 minutes of fame to those doing the things that most people have no interest in doing or even care about. Like, standing in line for 5 days for an iphone. Really? Who cares? I hope to never see front page "news" about some person standing in line to buy a luxury item while others in the world can't find a job...are buried under an earthquake...tornados...starvation...you pick[/soapbox]
At least this post has merit in that it tells those interested in buying where they can now get the ipad.
While the iPad certainly can be a great toy, anyone who believes that a powerful, intuitive, easy to use tablet computer is only a toy is a complete idiot.
Say you'd own Apple and sold 100,000 ipads to Toys "R" Us making 10 (TEN!!) million dollars in profit (at $ 100 a piece or so) would you be embarrassed?

Must have been there 4-5 times over the last 10 years. The place "feels" creepy. The sales personnel rarely knows what they are talking about and their pricing is usually too high.
They feel like the old car dealer ships, where from the moment you come in the start licking their chops

How very strange. I can not believe a store that sells telephones, MP3 players, Digital Cameras, video games, eReaders, GPS devices, TVs, dvd players, Apple iPods, laptops, and tablets would carry the Apple iPad.
