Sam's Club iPhone preorder info:

I preordered (more like reserved) on 9/14 as soon as I got the email from Sam's Club.

All they were offering through the site were 16GB's so I ordered a white one.

I got an email from Sam's Club as shown above saying there was a delay, shortly after receiving the email I got a call from Sam's Club and I was told I should be getting an email saying my iPhone is delayed but it was just the black one. They got the whites ones in and I was 2nd on the list so I could come in by close of business 9/21 and pick it up. My brother ordered like a day or two later and he has one waiting for him too.

I wonder why the delay on the black ones?

Oh, and then about three hours after my local Sam's Club called I got an automated call from corporate Sam's Club saying the same thing as the email. Haha.

Why would people even buy an iPhone from Best Buy? So they can sell you crap load of crap no one wants? Like Geek-Support?

Just go to Apple Store. Don't have one? Order on apple's website. So easy!

Yeah, I have the same question as you. I was actually in a cruise ship out on the water during the pre-order. I paid 70 cent per minute for internet and I was able to pre-order and go back to sleep in my stateroom. I'm not bragging about my fees but my point is that this time, the Apple pre-order was so painless and easy I just don't see why get it else where like BB or Wal-mart. I'm seating in my office, package "out for delivery".

I pre-ordered at Racine Best Buy and got mine this morning. White 32GB AT&T. The store did state that they only received 60 iPhones and they were all AT&T. No Verizon or Sprint.

Got Double Reward Zone Points and discounts on accessories. Oh and no waiting. Can't beat that. :)

Because doing it through a retailer get you anyway between 50-150$ of your phone.

I like how some people are hammering Best Buy and Sam's for this. Like it's their fault they didn't receive the shipments or enough?

I got screwed. I was the first one to order the Black 32GB one on AT&T. My local Buy doesn't have my phone in yet meaning they didn't receive one single phone with this configuration.

I called and talked with a manger who said they didn't get even 1 single Sprint iPhone 5 at all. He said they may get a shipment today or tomorrow hopefully and I should get an email as soon as my phone arrives for pickup.

Not happy at all.

I love reading comments from people who have no clue how the relationships between vendor and retailer work, especially with Apple. Makes me giggle. :)

Try someone who worked at Best Buy and saw the incompetence first hand. If you are going to giggle, make sure its cause you aren't the one who should be laughed at.

The same thing happened to me last year at best buy with the 4s. Absolute mess with no idea when they would receive stock. Will never preorder from them again.

That's why I don't shop at Best Buy ... ****** customer service and they make promises they can't keep!!

It there fault or calling what they did a pre-order and pick date of the 21st! They clearly knew try didn't know how many iPhones or what type they were getting lol! That's taking people's money and screwing them over! They Gould Sao from the Jump that you can pre-order from us but there I a chance you won't get your phone until weeks later lol! I mean people who ordered and were first in line don't even have there phone. What type of **** is tht?!?

Anybody got a translator?

Does Apple promise retailers a certain quantity of iPhones? If so, this would be a big letdown by Apple's supply side. If not, why do such retailers even take preorders?

I have to Agree Why would you pre order at Bestbuy!
Go Directly to the Source,
Apple.com Duhhhhh

Why didn't people just pre-order with apple? Why would you go to another dealer? See what haste do to a person. They can't even think straight.
Have a little patience, order with Apple or go into the store.

I might stop by the store today.

I preordered with Best Buy after 6 PM last Friday and my AT&T black 32 GB is ready for pickup today. No issues. :)

By the way, my friend ordered from Apple and he has to wait another week.

If I recall correctly, when the iPhone 4S was released last year, it was also released at 8:00 AM at Apple Stores and elsewhere.

BUT - Walmart decided to have a midnight release, selling them 8 hours before Apple did.

So now Walmart doesn't have their stock yet? I am not surprised. Apple decided to take care of that problem. They'll probably still get the shipment today, they just didn't get it earlier this week like other retailers.

I'm saving about $600 by buying from Best Buy compared to buying from Apple between chase 5% back + slickdeals + reward zone certificates. Getting a full off contract VZW 64gb phone for about $300 + u/l data means I can wait a few days :D.

Same thing happened to me. I was the first person at my local Best Buy to pre-order a 64GB Black iPhone 5 and received this same automated email from them at 12:37am. I also pre-ordered a 32GB Black the same day, which did come in. I did this purposely because I had suspected that they might have problems fulfilling the 64GB. I just cancelled the 64GB and took the 32GB. It's funny, because I was obviously willing to spend the extra $100 for the extra memory, but because they couldn't supply it, they lost that extra $100. I wonder how much money in total they (Apple, Best Buy, etc.) are losing because of this.

I pre-ordered/reserved from a Canadian Best Buy mobile shop. (It's freaking tiny!) I ordered a black 32 GB, but they only got 64 GB's in today. Luckily, Telus is giving 50$ off 64 GB models! Score! :)

Can't wait for my first PHONE. Ever.
