Anyone still waiting?

I placed my reserve on March 16th and still no call. If I would have know it would take this long I would have never asked for Best Buy gift cards.

They won't even say what place I am on the list and how much longer it could take. A month+ seems excessive to wait for this thing. All they tell me how stingy Apple is and not sending them any and how the Tsunami in Japan has slowed down production.

One Best Buy store has a sign that says they don't expect them back in for another 4-8 weeks.

My Best Buy said they are getting them regularly now. I have had a 16GB Black on reserve since the 13th. He said they don't send a lot of the 16GB models but that I am next on the list. I went to the computer desk and he had all the reservation sheets right there. I too didn't think it would be this bad, especially since new vendors are starting to carry them.

i went to BB last nite and they had 10 of the black 16gb wifi in stock.

Oddly enough last night I got a call from Best Buy to pick up my iPad 2! When I went to pick it up the girl couldn't find it but then someone else came and she knew exactly where it was, it took a while though and it came sealed in a Best Buy clear bag in addition to Apples shrink wrap.

So reserved March 16th, picked up April 13th. White Wifi 32gb.

Do any of you have issue with the Bestbuy Reward zone program?

I placed my reverse on Mar 15th and picked up on 22nd.

Just checked my Reward Zones transactions.

Bestbuy didn't grant the 100 points toward the Gift Cert that we got from the reservation. and only 409 points on the actual Purchase.

I have to call their support and explain like 4 times before the rep finally agree to give me back my 100 points. She insisted that Gift Cert didn't get points

If you have Reward Zones. should check on your transactions.

a 16GB Wifi Purchase enough for a $10 Certificate. missing that 100 points mean you only get $5 and 150 points balance

Just Curious, but why didn't you just buy it from the countless online retailers that offer no tax and a similar return policy? No tax > $10 BB GC.

my macconnection rep keep telling me that they will charge tax and then always seems to be few minutes or hours late when they indeed have it.

the GC just more like a bonus for me. I indeed get more @ Target then @ Bestbuy or Apple Store!

How does reserving at best buy work? I have to wait for gift cards my fiance is getting at her bridal shower in the middle of May. Should I reserve one now?

I just got my iPad today. Best Buy in Winchester, VA has 6 of them in stock. I got the 16gb wi-fi black version. My first iPad! Wow! I like this better than the iPhone! Lol!

I got my Best Buy call this morning, a Good Friday indeed.
Reserved 2 on March 12th 8pm at Houston NW Crossing, black 16GB wifi came in for wife. When I pick up I'll take my name off the list for the 64GB white wifi, as I already got somewhere else & gave the $100 gift card as a B-Day gift.

The Best Buy in Modesto, CA has at least 10 apiece of both the white and black 64GB for ATT. They had other wi-fi ones but I didn't look close enough to see which ones.

The BB at Meyerland in Houston had 3 white and 3 black 64gb WiFi iPad this afternoon.

Picked up the iPad 2 32GB black GSM version from my local Bestbuy two nights ago. They had at least 20-30 iPad 2 sitting in the cage!

You only get Reward Points on purchases of gift cards, not with gift cards. If you did, it would be an endless cycle.

Wow, I called them on Saturday and they said they had nothing. What a joke. Any chance you saw a white 32GB 3G ATT, or is that it?

got a white 32gb iPad at Best Buy on the 22nd

Managed to land a white 32gb iPad last Friday at the 44th Street and 5th Avenue Manhattan Best Buy.

This was around 2:15 p.m. or so.

Had to jump through a couple of hoops > being told no ipads > being told yes we have iPads > being told the wrong place for line > finally stuck in line in between Russian scalpers who were asking me if WiFi worked in Russia (LoL) who left the line after they were told 5x no 64gb > nasty cashier after I politely refused their extended warranty when they claimed it was cheaper than Apple's > uh $250 is not cheaper than $79.99.

It was a very surreal experience and I had it easy considering this was my first time going out and about for an iPad.

But the experience confirmed why I won't shop at Best Buy in the future. I'd rather give someone like Mike's Tech Shop or the Apple Online store my $.

Ironically, I went to Mike's Tech Shop that evening and they had AT&T capable iPads (don't know what color or sizes. Although Mike's usually only stocks two larger capacity sizes).

When it is time to upgrade, I will shop at Mike's Tech Shop or Apple Online.

I hope more people are successful at Best Buy.

Yikes I cant find any ipad 2 wifi's in Long Island. I am handcuffed to BB bc of giftcards.

Went to my local Best Buy today and guess what? They had iPad 2's in stock. But you know what? They wouldn't sell it to me because there's going to be a special ad for them on Sunday. Really Best Buy? Here I am, a customer willing to give you money but you refuse because you have something else planned for them and expect me to come back on Sunday? Screw that. I'm about to email Apple, this ad nonsense has to stop with Best Buy and I really hope Apple pulls all their products from such an idiotic company.

That's odd. I bought an iPad 2 today (May 26, Thursday) at my local BestBuy store. They sold the iPad 2 to me & no one mentioned about this planned special promo for the iPad 2 in the upcoming Sunday ad .

I can confirm what MClass said above.
I placed a reserve with a local BB near my work on 4/17 (the last time there was a big "event" for iPad 2) and haven't heard anything since, other than to be notified I'm 4th on the list for one when I called in earlier this month for status.

So in my spare time i've been looking using a tracker and found one near the BB at my home. I went in there Wednesday morning to inquire about it and was initially they told they had no iPad 2s but after stating their website said they did was then told (and I quote) "We do have them but Apple told us to hold them until Sunday for an event." They wouldn't sell it to me.
So I then inquired about reserves and was told that anyone who has a reserve will trump the Sunday event - so if they come in we should be getting a call.

Anyways, sure enough, the BB near my work has been showing the iPad 2 model I reserved in stock since Wednesday. I got no call. I called them yesterday and was told that they have 7 in and since i'm 4th in line there's a very good chance I will get mine and I should keep waiting for my call. As of today, still no call. I'm going to call them again and ask what's going on - I sure hope the store near my work isn't just holding them until Sunday and not calling the reserve list...

The BB near my house I stopped at is now completely out of stock on iPad 2s so they must have been good on their word and called their preorders. It's making me really worried the one near my work still hasn't called me.

Sorry for the long story, but I wanted to let everyone know my saga. :)

I don't understand all of this hassle. Why didn't you just order from the Apple Store online back in mid-April? You'd have had your iPad 2 by now.
