Verizon technical department at best buy told me this specifically.

Verizon's 4G LTE phones are GSM SIM unlocked. There was a thread last year for the iP6s/iP6s+ that claimed that some of the Verizon iPhones were not globally unlocked but you would need to search for it. Idk what the outcome was.

Please do notice "Only Verizon Post-paid 4G LTE phones" come as unlock out the box. Best buy and other retailer, they sells prepaid and post paid, so depend on witch phone you purchase from them. I purchase an iPhone 6 16GB Verizon on prepaid and when i test out a tmobile sim card after activating the iPhone it relock and said i need a sim card from supported carriers. So please be careful out there, people claiming verizon phones, but sometime it come as "Lock" too. I call verizon, speak to 3-5 peoples so far and they all tell me that Verizon Prepaid Phones come as lock for a full 12 months of prepaid services before it can require to be unlock. This is why they are selling it for $199 while original price is $349.
