You take things way too literally. The new one is called iPad. That's all. iPad. Just like the last model: iPad. That's all. iPad.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

huh? the iPad 3rd generation was never referred to as iPad 3 or the third generation iPad in stores

it was always referred to as "The New iPad"...even on Apple's site as well

the iPad 4 was referred to as the fourth generation iPad in the presentation and now is being referred to as "iPad with Retina"

i'm not sure why the obvious is so difficult to understand...

No. It was "The new iPad". Emphasis on lower case 'new' as in that part of speech you should have learned in grade school English class called an adjective.

I thought you were suggesting buying the v4 and returning it with your v3 tucked in the box in it's place.

I constantly correct people in stores... Not sure what the big deal is. Most people thank me for my help. I often direct people to online stores who have better pricing, especially of they do not need it immediately.

If sales people mislead a consumer either on purpose or due to lack of knowledge, why should we not help out. I do pre-sales telecom engineering. I try to make sure I fully understand any technology or product before I start talking about it. I feel my credibility relies on providing accurate information, especially if I want them to come back and use me as a continued resource.

What is the difference?
