apple store. best buy is a rep off.

Well, techinically they are the same price, they really aren't ripping you off. Its just Apple has a good promo right now...

The reason I purchase at Best Buy is because of the no interest for 18 months. But if you don't have credit, Apple is the place to go.

To OP: Did they ask for a proof of ID from being at a higher institution? I'm gonna ask the manager of the one near me (I'm sure he'll match the iPod Touch).

I'm fairly certain the 18-month 0 interest special is no longer being done at Best Buy. I know because I've been waiting for it to come back. I called several different BBs, and a couple of employees that I spoke to were confused as to why that special ended, and some thought its return was imminent, and that BB would be doing that special again for the back-to-school crowd. Just would be nice if it did come back, I'd be there buying it within the hour. Ick.

They must have pulled it recently because I just bought my DSLR about a week or two ago. I think they still do the $299/6 months, but the 18 months is the breaker for me to go in that store for a big purchase.

I didn't even know it was taken off; hopefull the fall so I can buy nice things for Xmas. The only promo I see in there ads is the 3 years no interest on home theaters, hdtvs, and appliances over $799 < not a bad deal, haha. Time for a new tv?

All stores didn't ask for proof, and they did offer the 18 months to me as well, but i paid cash. At first they even gave me a 16 GB touch..then they realized it was a mistake and gave me the 8. The only thing I regret is not getting the hard drive upgrade from apple.com.

I would always go to the Apple Store first just for questions, etc....

I do enjoy Best Buy though but that is for tech stuff that I feel I am educated well about

I have one question:
Is it possible to get the Education $100 off and the iPod Touch deal together from an Apple Retail Store?
Thanks in advance!

You should be able to, especially if you go to the store. If you find out otherwise though, please post. I plan on going to an Apple store in about a week or two and use the education discount with the free ipod touch.
