As a student, apple store all the way. I don't think the Best Buys are matching the price of a student discount and a free ipod, plus a 100 dollars off a printer.

Also if the apple store is in a non-sales tax state, that would be even better.

Best Buy doesn't know anything about Macs. They try to sell you Macs without boxes as I read in an earlier thread. The Apple Store is way better for getting your first Mac because the employees actually know what they are doing.

why do they try to sell them without boxes? Thats insane...

They are matching that particular deal, they even PM the I'Work for $30 Off for me, you just have to know your EDU discounts is all and let them know. I got a Mac + IPod Touch easily.

I dont know about your best buy, but the ones around me has apple staff manning the "apple section" of the computers. So i would say if your getting non knowledgeable staff memebers it has nothing to do with Best Buy. I personally would go throught them just for the simple fact of their warranty and reward zone membership.

The ad I saw was only the free ipod touch deal. But if they are doing all 3, the discount, the free ipod and the printer, I would probably still do apple. Even though they are electronic rebates, I like apples return policy. They will usually wave the restocking fee, while BB isn't likely to. In my experience.

However if one of these is in a state that won't charge sales tax, go there.

Well do you thin it would be worth traveling to ATLANTA, Georgia because they have 1500 or less for there tax free as Alabama has only 750 and below.

What is Apple's Store Return policy?

Depends on where you live and how much it will cost, plus factor in your time to get there. I sometimes went to Portland, OR from Seattle, WA just to save on the tax, but I made a weekend out of it. Friends and family there.

If you don't have a reason and it will take a lot of time, then don't travel.

Call the best buy and see exactly what their offer is.

Apples return policy is 2 weeks. But they are more liberal if you are trading up or spending more. Best buy has a stocking fee of 15%, while apple is 10%
