Best Buy - Return Policies

This is rather interesting. I never knew such a thing existed; and I've returned many an item to Best Buy. However, I will certainly continue to shop there, albeit, be more mindful of my purchases...

How does this affect an extended warranty plan? They are treated the same as a return/exchange so if you buy an iMac or something with an extended warranty and then they ban you for a year is the warranty effectively useless?!
