So I used my upgrade and got a Note 9 after being on iPhones, hated android so I returned it and got an iPhone 8plus. Now I wish I would’ve got the XS Max, I’m still in my 14 day window, does anyone know if Best Buy has a limit on exchanges?

There is a whole thread here about Best Buy banning people without notice for returns. You can probably find it with the search feature. You are probably fine, the only way to know is to contact Best Buy and try to return.

They do, but I don't think it would be triggered with one more return. They use a service called "retail equation" I believe.

I've done two returns in a row and didn't have an issue, but if this is your 5th high value return or whatnot you may.

Go and return it. I really doubt they blacklisted you just for one previous return. Take what you wat and please be happy. Good Luck!

I went there about last week with my daughter to return a Christmas gift. They gave her a warning and she don’t even shop there, nor does she return/exchange items at all.

All Best Buy stores don’t participate in this program either.

I bought and returned a Sony flip phone from them in early 2000s and they blacklisted me after one return. Things may have changed since then though .

Never buy a phone at Best buy

If paying full retail price on a phone, I agree. However, a lot of Best Buy deals (at least in the past and for Verizon) they will pay a down payment for you. So you can get phones $100-300 off depending on their promotions. Then after 14 days you can pay off the remaining balance with the carrier. So you save money at that point.

I’ve heard somewhere that they block for 3 returns within 90 days. I’m very careful when I buy from Best Buy.

I think you basically got the return #, and it doesn't seem to matter the dollar amount with Retail Equation.
There's a screenshot in the link which proves what this person's Tweet is claiming.

Jake Zakhar: "3 total exchanges account for $87.43. I suppose losing me who just spent 5k on appliances over 3 cell phone cases is worth it. Banned from returns for a year. You lost a high dollar purchaser permanently over your lame system."

I've returned many devices from Best Buy. Including my Note 9 after 30 days. Never had an issue.

I've never had a problem buying phones at BestBuy. I have only bought unlocked Android phones there such as the S8+ and my S9+. I had $250 in reward certificates so I used them to buy my S9+.

I don't make return anything for refunds but I have made a few exchanges over the past 5 years and never got banned. The last return for exchange was a 13" 2015 MBP for the 15" and an Apple Watch two years ago.

Wow. I never knew that. After reading this article, Best Buy lost me as a customer.

I usually exchange and not return. I go to Amazon and Apple for my electronics.

UPDATE: I went to Best Buy on Friday and was able to exchange the 8 plus for the XS Max no problem!!
Congrats ! Really happy for you. You should get, what you want. We work hard for our money and every purchase should increade our level of utility. Welcome to XS Max club.
