In my prepurchase phase right now and wondering what the flash issue is that people are talking about that a sharpie fixes. The reveal was my top pick but someone mentioned that it messes up the flash. Do you mark the phone or the case? Is it the led reflecting off the clear shell causing issues and so you mark the shell? I was going to put a zagg on there plus maybe a gelaskin (I know stupid to put both) but wondering if this case would work over the zagg or the gelaskin alone (let alone both)

The Belkin grip vue is awful. Beyond the flash issue it just doesn't fit correctly. It doesn't come over the screen enough so the face isn't protected well. The dock connector has a cheap plastic peak. Honestly vie had better cases from eBay for five bucks. Simply awful.

Because the back of the case is a clear plastic when the flash goes off it causes a reflective glare that shows up in the pictures. So all you need to do is stick the head of the sharpie in the camera hole of the case and blackin' the edges. (Obviously do this with the case off the phone) This will fix the issue. Very simple. :)

I am stressing. I have the belkin grip vue and the zagg IS. It is def doing its job of protecting but it kills me every time i look at the screen. I automatically look at the dust/dirt that is permanently on the IS (three dots in the left side of the middle, and one in the bottom right corner) and the wrinkle in the middle and the right side of the screen that is pushed up from the case. The guy at best buy put it on well and it still has these issues. I was excited for the Otterbox Defender (mainly bc it has a protective screen that I don't have to put on) but now I read some reviews of the 3G and people complain about the screen protector bubbling.

So whats my best bet for a case and screen protector that I don't have to put on (could be installed where I buy it or one like the defender where it is part of the case), dirt/dust doesn't get permanently stuck to it and doesn't have wrinkles in the screen?

Thanks,
Jeff

^ That's good to know! I bought one yesterday at bestbuy. I like the Reveal.

Anyone? Thanks

I got the iFrogz Luxe Original at Best Buy - blue/black.

Only negative to it is that dust collects in the creases (I'm OCD) and it's so tight you can't effectively use a screen protector unless you trim them.

Love the case though - I just carry a microfiber cloth around with me and use that to clean the screen each time when I'm done using it.

I had this case on my 3GS and after only a month or two the blue started to rub/chip off and it would show the silver underlayer.
We'll see if they've fixed this on the new ones.

I have a thread going on this but iFrogz confirms the issue with the screen protectors, they told me they would have a prototype design out in a week or so and hopefully a new one in production within a month or so that would allow enough clearance for the protector. Hopefully while still being a nice snug fit.

Has anybody noticed if the sides of this iPhone scratch/scuff as easy as the chrome trim on the older ones did?
That chrome made my OCD hurt...bad.

It just depends on what you want and how you are with your phones.
Myself? I'm incredibly OCD/protective of my phones - mainly because the older ones scratched if you sneezed on them.

Since I baby my phone and always have it firmly in my grip or sitting on my desk at work I don't need a Fort Knox case.

As far as screen protectors, I've already pre-ordered my Power Support Anti-Glare ones - I had these on my old 3GS and they were the highest quality, best fitting screen protectors I had ever seen.
I personally stay away from the ZAGG ones as they seem way too permanent - I want to know I can take mine off and clean the screen.
Also, after a while any screen protector is going to get faded/worn down in the areas you use the most often (keyboard and "Slide to Unlock" areas) - it's nice to know you can just peel it off and put another one on.

Another limitation is going to be availability, be patient with it and you'll find one that works.

No need to panic, just be smart about how you handle the phone.
I know it sounds stupid to be so anal about it but these things aren't cheap, it'd be stupid to not at least put a little effort in protecting it.

Zagg screens peel off like a sticker. No issues.
