Which 500GB+ SSD drive should I get for my MBP 15 Mid 2010?

Samsung SSD 840 Pro for performances and low power consumption. SSD 830 did not have any issue, it should be the same with 840 Pro.

None of the above.

Spending the kind of money it takes to buy a 500GB SSD on a C2D or a pre-SandyBridge/IvyBridge i7 machine is unwise, especially given the SATA II controller that you're working with. Either sell it now and upgrade before the values fall off the cliff or get either:

a. ...a 750GB Momentus XT hybrid for some speed improvement or...

b. ...a small 128GB SSD and cheap obtibay caddy to make a DIY Fusion drive for more significant speed improvement.

Both options will cost less than half of what a decent 500GB SSD will cost and give you significant portions of the full SSD speed upgrade (almost all of it for option b).

EDIT: Sorry I was a little late with that comment. Well, for the next guy considering it...
