Installed it just now on mine, 5.1.1, works fine. Did you respring? Had to on mine, worked after that.

I've a question - is there an app that allows direct dial from an icon? ie just press an icon and it dials a specific number with one press?

I re downloaded again , yes it works :D

Just discovered Springtomize 2, and it's totally awesome. It significantly reduced the amount of Cydia tweaks that I have on my phone. Highly recommended.

Sbsettings - toggles
Spirngtimize 2- ultimate customizing of sb, no themes
3g unrestrictor - facetime over 3g, among other things. Just works.
iBlacklist - expensive, but worth it. Among many other options, block callers.
Pdanet - tethering, free, tried it once and it work; hopefully wont trigger att harassment
Bitesms - tons of text features, quickreply
Full screen safari - adds a couple of mm to your screen size

I think that's all I have. I try to keep my tweaks to a minimum. Even though I have a few, they all do completely different things. Springtomize was great because it allowed me to erase 4-5 tweaks I had already installed. In my experience, a ton of tweaks can lead to an unstable platform (springboard crashing, always re-springing, apps not playing well with others).

Second-time jail-breaker here. First time was last year right before iOS 5 betas were available. This year looks like it's right before iOS 6 betas. I have a feeling I'll be sticking w/ the JB for a while though.

Thanks for this thread; I came across a few apps mentioned here that were definitively worth getting. Springtomize 2, for example. I bought the old version of this last year & was pleased to see version 2 was only a buck to upgrade to.

Also grabbed Zephyr. Neat but I'm not using it currently; I found myself inadvertently swiping apps away. lol

Other apps I can't live without:

  • biteSMS 6.2 - I've tried messages+ (bundled with ISX), just not enough features there. Sticking with Bite.
  • ISX 1.3.13 - My wife wanted a widget or something for NC for posting to FB. So I grabbed us some ISX. I dig it but its got its quirks (i.e. emails are displayed as plain text, even if they are html. And if an email has an attachment... well, you'll see all the bits and bytes of that too. ;))
  • DisplayRecorder 1.3.2 - this is just handy for showing off JB tweaks to friends online.
  • Springtomize2 1.3 - Simply awesome mega-tweak. As others have said, this replaced a bunch of other little tweaks.
  • BytaFont 1.5 - Must-have for font tweaking.
  • NCSettings 1.4 - Very clean NC toggle set. It's a shame the developer seems to have lost interest in maintaining it (according to his Twitter posts anyway).
  • FolderEnhancer 1.6.0.2 - Fantastic folder tweak. Gotta love zippy, nested folders.
  • MultiIconMover 1.0.6 - For moving multiple icons at a time. Handy with FolderEnhancer (same author btw)
  • Activator 1.6.2 - I generally don't use this, but DisplayRecorder pulled it over as a dependency. I use a pinch gesture on the Springboard to start/stop recordings. :)
  • ColorKeyboard 1.2.0 - I'm not big into theming but I wanted a new look for the keyboard. I'm currently using the "Phatbook Air" theme, which makes the keyboard look like an MBA's (lighted) keyboard. :p

And that's about it... for now!

Bulletin

anyone know the tweak to make the notification center drop down kind of see through? Had it before but forgot what it's called.

Blurriedncbackground is good, but Bulletin is better. Can drop down Notification Center from lockscreen, change background, go fully transparent, and edit a lot of other things in Notification Center.

Ok, I don't think I saw this asked, but if it was sorry. I use my ipod a lot at work to play games, but I also try to listen to my music or podcasts I have, but most of my games stop any music that I am playing. Is there an app to override this, or any way to get around it?

Lockdown Pro is better imho, but no iPad support =o(.

----------

Here's my installed Cydia stuff. I probably could get rid of some for a newer apps that does the work of a few others.

Most used:
-Activator
-AdBlocker
-Backgrounder
-BiteSMS
-CyDelete
-Five Icon Dock
-Gridlock
-GridTab
-iFile
-Infinifolders
-Insomnia Pro
-iProtect
-Lockdown Pro
-Lockinfo
-Multiflow
-MultiIconMover
-OpenSSH
-PdaNet
-Safari Download Manager
-SBSettings
-Wifi Analyzer
-WinterBoard
-3G Unrestrictor

I upgraded to 5.0.X a while back, but biteSMS lagged soooo bad I had to go back. I wonder if that was fixed? Probably just wait for iOS6 now.

I loved Lockdown Pro but on 5.0.1 it crashes every time I try to load the list of applications for locking. Using AppLocker now.

I had horrible lag with biteSMS on 5.0.X so I went back to 4.3.3. I'll stay here until 6.0 comes out.

If you use Safari a lot.....Full Screen for Safari and AdBlocker are worthwhile Cydia apps.

Paperlock-really nice unlock animation which can be customised. $2.99 from BigBoss repo

How do you make this tweak work, i installed it from cydia, but it does not seem to be working.

I guess i should say that i did have an issue with the respringing after the installation so it may not be installed correctly.

If you can't get it working you could always try swipeshiftcaret. I recommend swipeshiftcaret but just my opinion. Swipeselection bounces all over the place while I'm texting really fast. Maybe the latest update fixed that. Used to drive me insane.

NCEffect -

This is a free app for notification effect. The animation probably looks familiar, as it is also present in the paid jailbreak tweak called WeeRoll, which we showed you back in February. The animation is very aggressive as it appears to be crushing your home screen instead of fluidly dropping over it. For some, this type of animation may not be preferred, however it's always cool to have some kind of option rather than what Apple wants.

Since this tweak is free, it’s a good and worthwhile way to get this animation if you like it. However, if you want this animation and more, it could be a better idea to take a look at WeeRoll. You can also check out WeeRoll Lite, which has more than one animation for free excluding this one. The developer may also add support for this animation in WeeRoll Lite in the future.

NCEffect has no options to configure, so you will need to uninstall it to disable it if you ever decided you didn’t like it. Additionally, if you use Zephyr, you will need to disable the Notification Center effect for NCEffect to work. If you don't disable the Zephyr Notification Center effect, then Zephyr will supersede NCEffect and you won't see NCEffect's animation.

I like this one, it's nice and smooth. Thanks
