that's not a desk...

Looks more like some nice wood counters to me, minus any cabinets, or drawers under them.

Just curious, what wood did you use???

I should have said best fer me.....

Wow - I didn't realize my idea of a fun desk for my iMac would cause such a stir. I agree with most posts that say - the right desk for the right user is what counts. I had bought it originally for my lap top and was delighted that it fit my iMac - and it is quite sturdy. I work in the living room from a big comfy chair so I just pull it up to me and it works great.

But alas - it's a choice thing. I must admit mouse performance is sub optimal - so I'm searching for a cool round pad to go on the snack table.

I've been so mobile for years now - I guess I couldn't imagine sitting at a big desk. At any rate, I think the company that makes these (joey manic) certainly didn't intend this to be used for a desktop. That's just me being me.

I am amazed at the number of Mac users who got a bit silly because, of all things, your desk doesn't conform to the norm!

You go girl.

I think Desks are a dead concept.

I like the desk and have been thinking along similar lines. Why use a desk when everything can be arm-mounted? Ekornes makes a beautiful series of recliners called Stressless, most comfortable chair known to man. Medical supply firms sell mounting posts and armatures for mounting document trays, LCD's, keyboards, etc.

Just picture it: Kicked back with a little table and cup holder attatched to the chair, Keyboard, Monitor, documents and mouse all EXACTLY where they are most comfortable. Ahhhhh. Now if I only had the 3 Grand I would need for the parts.

oops sorry Beth... I thought the page was written by a "phillip"... anyhow - pronoun on the main article has been corrected.

As for a mousepad... you sure you don't want a nice MacRumors mousepad? :)

Mousepads

Sorry ther Arn but the Optical mice hate changes in surface contrast more than anything. They skip around and jump whenever the surface changes colour or reflectivity. A plain, un-patterned surface is essential and anything but red. I like the Logo, but it would have to be used upside down.

I am now using a nice black background mouse pad... granted it has a HD logo in the center, but the color isn't harsh enoug to make the mouse act funky. :D

very cool...but lacks the essential mac-look. Possibly some white plastic with trasparent layer wrapped around. Or the graphite look...

props to the mousepad!!!
