I've always felt that they looked more elegant than the unibodies, when I use the ubmbps... They just feel and look less expensive and more... Dare I say like HP's.

That's because Apple's design was basically a copy of HP's silver base and black bezel. ;)

My favorite is the non-unibody macbook pro, or powerbook g4. I think the current form factor MBP's are just hideous.

When closed its the Macbook Air by a mile, but once open the old trackpad and silver bezel spoil it a little.

Ti Powerbook & Al Powerbook (non-unibody) looked great at the time, but they haven't aged well at all IMO, they look so dated when you see one nowadays. As for the Blackbook, that thing looked great out of the box but always looked grubby even after being used for a few mintues, awful choice of material finish which left it looking tacky.

That leaves the Unibody MBP, still the best looking laptop in production, nobody else has come close yet.

i agree with what you said about the mba. what do you think about the silver bezel of the anti glare?

I like the MacBook Air design (although it would look better with the new trackpad). The MacBook Pro is too shiny, and the black around the outside of the screen makes it look a little cheap. Ideal Mac laptop? MacBook Air design with new trackpad and matte screen.

I think it looks ugly, like an after thought (exactly what it is lol). But some people seem to like/need anti-glare screens so they have no choice really.

The white macbook is the cutest. The blackbook is the coolest in a way it can appeal to many non-tech savvy people. The unibody MBP looks neat and robust. But the black parts make it look slightly Windows-ish, I think. The MBA's got the most sophisticated design. But something makes me think it could be better. Maybe it would be more aesthetically pleasing if it had a better design around its trackpad.

Macbook Pro 15" Unibody is definitely my favourite. It's absolutely stunning. One beautiful piece of hardware. I'm probably getting one in 2011 with 3rd generation Intel SSD.

Black MacBook out of the box.

However, I must say this. I owned the first generation own until the Penryn MacBook Pros came out, and I had to clean it CONSTANTLY to keep it looking good and even then the keys and trackpad got permanently shiny after awhile. I cleaned it every couple days too!

My vote goes to the:

12" PowerBook G4 - Great design, and I absolutely LOVE how the keyboard ends right on the edge. It makes it seem like the laptop is at it's limit when it comes to size and I love my lapops small! Anything bigger than 13 inches I don't like.
