Is it generally carried at Barnes & Noble, or Borders?

I don't think so... I realise it's hard to buy something sight unseen, but all I can say is that it is the only Mac magazine worth the money.

I also subscribe to Mac Addict and as much as I like the people who put it out, the magazine is useless. Most of these magazines don't do more than scrape the surface. This is probably useful for all of those users who are not computer-savvy, but for a magazine purporting to aim at the tech-literate community, M-A offers little. Every review is positive, every article is about some newly updated Apple app and involves a quick overview of its major features.

As I said, useless.

macaddict all the way. its entertaining as well as informitive on both a basic level and a technical level. i think sometimes it focuses too much on graphics software, but then i guess thats what macs are good for!!

I used to by the odd Mac magazine way back in the 90s, but I soon found that they were pretty useless all of them. Sites like MacRumors and MacOSXHints are much better for help in exploring your Mac and get help with problems, and Shareware and Demos are easily obtained either on Apple's download page or VersionTracker. The only magazine I browse through nowadays is a magazine given out freely four times a year by the biggest Mac retailer in Norway, which has one or two good articles every time, between all the ads, and that's just because I get it for free by snail-mail.

Anyone have any iCreate back issues they'd like to get rid of? I'd like to try before spending that kind of money on a subscription.

Hey Folks....

New "Mac"ey here....now that I have 2 Macs in the house I wanted to subscribe to a magazine. Which is considered the best one? Not for a huge technophile, but one that gives good tips for home use and such.

Thanks!!!

Hmmm a good magazine for 'home use'? "Naughty Neighbors" or "Just 18"

i have subscriptions to macworld (U.S. version), mac addict, and just added icreate. icreate is my favorite of the three, and by far the most expensive. i've picked up copies locally at both barnes & noble and borders. at barnes & noble, my membership card helps take a dollar or two off the price. i was getting tired of missing an issue here or there if i didn't make it to the book store at the right time, so i ordered a subscription (through amazon), though i have yet to receive the first issue with that.

check ebay for back issues of icreate...

All of the Barnes & Nobles in Austin, TX carry iCreate. I also agree, best Mac mag there is. Plus, you get a PDF of a previous issue with every new issue!
