You. Saturday detention. First for thinking that thought, then for writing it.

Are you crazy? This is one of the best movies ever. Psuedo-smart and psuedo-dark without any syrup. The 90's and ots ruined a great 80s franchise of teen movies -- don't blame Heathers for Lindsay Lohan!

I meant that Heathers was a "best high school comedy".

Its like if I hate the 80's (which I do) and then say I hate fast times ... well thats not fair fast times is great, not to my personal liking but you know I respect it.
here's the thing about the '80's, and those of you who are old enough can back me up on this one:
In the '80's about 99% of the college/high school flicks were slasher films or boob films. Just complete and utter crap totally lacking any measure of wit or style. It's probably why we (I was an '80's teenager) remember some of those few good movies so fondly...they were just so rare...

hmm...no votes for "Better Off Dead" or "Three O'Clock High"? Odd...

I've seen both, mostly, but I can't say that there was anything remarkable about either.

What about Gross Anatomy?

Hiding Out was a little of everything.

Fame was something different for high school films of the time.

when I read the thread title I thought to myself the old sex ed tapes they showed you was overrated it never stopped me from having sex in high school. but I would have to say Dazed and Confused from my high school days .

Dude, "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and "Animal House". Both rock!!

Thank you! I like Animal House Better, but they're both classics. Haha Spicoli

You can't forget the oft forgotten John Hughes classic "Some Kind of Wonderful" I used to think that Eric Stolz was some kind of wonderful. Yum!

Other than that, Breakfast Club was ok. I thought 16 Candles was better along with Real Genius (I have that one on VHS somewhere), which is timeless.

Porky's.

Oh God, I'm old.

I really didn't like Porky's, I thought it was very forced and not funny at all.

I really need to see Animal House for real. It was on TV at new years this year, but I was with my girlfriend, and wound up seeing a total of about 1 minute of it. We'll just say that seeing animal house wasn't the first thing that I did in 2006. ;)

You can see what movies I liked and didn't on my ratings list: http://imdb.com/mymovies/list?l=46099

My votes are kind of inflated right now, but I don't want to deal with that...:p
