If they are pushing down on your ears there is not much you can do. They should be supported by the band on your head. When I have mine sized correctly (and use them for hours on end) I do not feel any pressure on my actual ears, just around them.

That's what I meant....around my ears!

I won't give up on them just yet!!! They sound amazing! Just super big on my little girlie head! And my ears just sort of got tired of having them on! I'll give them longer to grow on me!

Apple is just like any of the bigger retailers now as far as extending the return period for the upcoming holidays. You have till mid to late Jaunuary to decide, no restocking fee. Enjoy.

These were the best noise canceling headphones I ever owned. Wish I still had them. Unfortunately, not compatible with new iPhones without an adapter (well, 2 adapters actually).

They had great sound. Fully adjustable fit. And volume control on both the left and right of your head. That's what the knobs are on the sides of the headphones.

Looking to get either the Bose QC35 or the QC25....

I know the 35 is now wireless/Bluetooth. The 25's are corded. I'm reading advantages to both.

I really like the Bose noise canceling. I'm of course open to other ideas too. Oh and the over the ear is also what I'd want, I already have a good pair of wireless earbuds I run with etc :)
I have the QC25s. Very happy with them.

Hello everyone!

My initial thoughts on the QC35's. Love them!! But I've been wearing them now for about 20-25 min and the pressure on my head/ears is already a bit irritating. Oh and I went and looked into my bathroom mirror and these things are HUGE on my head!!!!

I know some have mentioned the QC30's?? The ANC isn't as good?? Are they still worth the $300 price tag???

I bought those QC35's at Apple Store...will they take them back if I decide to return them? I've only had them since Saturday.

Headphones need some break-in time. I would give it at least a week to soften up. Bose are some of the most comfortable. If you want pain, try Sony. They use a metal band and less padding.

Also, being overly large should mean more comfort as it won't be pressing on your ears but sitting around them. If you go smaller it will press on the ears.

I have both the QC30 and QC35. I find the QC35s have more effective NC (the mics are definitely set to different frequencies) and sound better, primarily due to the fact that they are headphones. However, the QC30s are less obtrusive, better at the gym, and are easier to transport. I recommend both models, and I haven't always been a huge fan of Bose.

In fact, I have to say that if the airpods don't sound markedly better than the lightning earpods (and early reviews seem to indicate this), then I will probably pass on them because the QC30s and QC35s, though not "balanced" or "neutral" in sound, clearly sound better than the earpods. And this is based on comparing them in a silent room; on the street or in a noisy environment, there would be no contest at all.

Jealous.....

QC15s are doing fine, but wouldn't mind either the 35s or 30s. Hard to justify the cost when it would just be mainly wireless. Tried them both out in Bose store and agree with your comments above on differences. The 30s adaptive NC was interesting but agree didn't quite get up to 35 level.

Collar seemed weird on 30s, but I could see being convenient to drop them out of your ears and not have to immediately fumble for the case. Not as compact as the 20s that fit into a little case, but still way better than 35s.

I'd mainly be interested in 30s to slim down my EDC bag as the 15s are pretty bulky. Plus they look like wings on your head, lol.

Thought I'd jot down my usage on the QC30 to see if it lived up to the reported 10 hours battery life.
Got 10 hours 5 mins usages over a 5 day period, that was generally with ANC set at around a third of it's capabilities as my usage was exclusively outdoors and, for safety concerns, I wanted to hear traffic noise, etc.

(I wouldn't worry about the neck band, it's that light I forget I've got it on most of the time).

You can't expect noise cancellation to be as complete as the over ear 35s but it's very capable and, in terms of comfort, the 30s win hands down over the 35s.

Just did a back-to-back again with the QC35 and the Sony 1000X. Bose takes it hands down, but not by that much. They are both on par, and do things similarly. Noise cancelling and sound is good on both. I think each does some ranges better than the other, but overall I like how the Bose performs. I think the Sony is a little better on the low-end, while Bose is better on the mid. The Bose still has good tight bass, but the Sony produces a little more of a movie theater boom if that is what you like. Both perform similarly with noise cancelling.

The Bose is just so much more comfortable to wear on the head. Lighter. Better ergonomics. Better padding. Just a very well designed headset. You can tell the time and money spent on ergonomics, while Sony just tried to copy Bose.

If you have large ears, go with the Bose hands down. The earcups and canted interior is so much more comfortable.

Sony is a fine headset, but improvements need to be made. Plus, the gesture controls are absolute garbage. That palm-mute sounds cool, and is cool all for about 5 minutes. Then it drives you crazy.

Thank you everyone!!! I will definitely give them more time, I really do like them!!

Don't stop there, plenty of good ones out there. Just do some comparisons.

The JBl Everest 300 BT over ear headphones are excellent for the money. Around $149 at BB.

Depends on noise level. For normal use,Bose works well, but when driving lawn mowers, using chainsaws or sitting next to a noisy outboarder, you need something better. Try looking up ear protectors with radio/phone connection.
