Hi guys,
I'm about to get my first MacBook Pro and I want to start learning Swift, so I can develop apps in order to get a better job.
I'm currently a web designer, I know HTML & CSS very well, with some good grasp of PHP, mySQL and I have briefly programmed in C++.
I'm looking at https://www.udemy.com/courses/search/?q=Swift 4&src=ukw and have found a bunch of what seem to be, very good online lessons for beginners like me, but I would really love to hear your recommendations on which one to get!
thanks!

I will say the Ray Wenderlich series of videos is excellent, PLUS, it comes with a HUGE PDF book which covers everything in more detail. That being said, I've seen a few of Angela Yu's videos, and she seems to do a great job as well. The good news is that for $10 per course (the special sale price right now), you can't really go wrong either way. If you purchase either of them and you don't like it, you can always get the next one and see how that is. Udemy is great in that once you buy a course, you have lifetime access to it, so there's no pressure.

Personally, I'd buy the Ray Wenderlich course and the Angela Yu course right now, and then between the two of them, for only $20, you should learn everything you've always wanted to know about Swift 4, and then some!

The Stanford cs193p class with Paul Hegarty is a must-watch, in my opinion. He’s been working with Mac APIs since Steve Jobs and him both worked at NeXT. Just make sure to select the iOS 11 / Swift 4 version, as Paul has done this class for years now. Oh yeah, this is on iTunes U .
