best app password it is 1Password but don't buy it now i hear the version 4 coming this week

Definitely free if you buy it from the the Mac App Store.

I have reservations about switching from Dropbox to the Cloud as I keep reading about lost files and downtime with the Cloud. Dropbox has worked flawlessly for me and the IOS browser keeps getting better.
 
I trialled both Lastpass and 1Password. In general, 1password is slicker, and probably a bit more capable than Lastpass. However, being a UK user, many of the form filling options were not working the way I wanted them to, and there's not ability to customise the fields (AFAIK).

So , I went with Lastpass. One advantage of being browser based I discovered this week - whilst borrowing someone else Mac as mine is being repaired, it was very easy to install and use immediately.

I asked the company, and I got a confirmation that it would be a free upgrade... at least in my case. Mine was purchased during the November black friday sale... on the MAS.
