I will keep updating and who knows it may help someone else in the same pickle.

Again all the AT&T stores I called said they are 95% sure to have them. Are supposed to have them Thursday for sale Friday morning. Told me to call on Thursday to confirm. And of course only sell the 4G's.

Sams Club is a yes (if you have a business card or the upgraded consumer membership) you can gain access at 7am. They will only be selling the WiFi models though.

Really? I didn't realise that, I thought it had to be AT&T...

No, if you compare the specs between AT&T and Verizon, the non-LTE specs are identical. My question is whether a Verizon model will support an AT&T sim, so that if LTE for Verizon is unavaliable, you'd revert to AT&T 3G, instead of Verizon's slower EV-DO.

From Apples's website:

"It also works on GSM/UMTS worldwide network technologies including HSPA, HSPA+, and DC-HSDPA — the fastest 3G networks out there. You’ll see downlink speeds up to 42 Mbps with DC-HSDPA and up to 21.1 Mbps with HSPA+.3"

"Wi-Fi + 4G for AT&T model: 4G LTE (700, 2100 MHz)3; UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
Wi-Fi + 4G for Verizon model: 4G LTE (700 MHz)3; CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900 MHz); UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) "

Ok that opens my options a little, especially as we don't have a 4G network in the UK yet!

Cheers.

Would it be a safe bet to try going to the Apple store? I won't be able to get there until like 6PM. I'm trying to get a black or white Wi-Fi Model 16gb. Should I have any issues? I don't mind waiting in line.
