Well I just checked my Amazon account. I guess I'll be impatiently waiting another two days for my Whoosh as I guess I never actually ordered it when I thought it did. #

i just came to this forum to try to see if anyone had a solution to the greasy finger print problem. i never thought of this.

and this my friends is why i love the internet lol

My Whoosh came today. So far, so good. It has a nice smooth feel to it. Now I'll test the fingerprint resistance.

I think the Whoosh is great for cleaning but I find no difference in fingerprint resistance. I'll use it up but don't think I'll purchase again.

Anyone else have their own suggestions for the best screen wax?

You want a synthetic polymer wax (PTFE aka Teflon). The PTFE will bind to the oleophobic coating that Apple applies. At the time I found that Meguiars NXT 2.0 worked very well.

Don't use any natural wax, I tried carnuba and it did not work.

Thanks for the thread links. Good to know.

Awesome I had some of that sitting in my garage and I just applied it to my 6 Plus and it's smooooth! Fells like the day I bought it, if not better!

Best polish to keep my screen smooth as butter

Why is this even necessary? My screen is smooth as butter already. Since day of launch.

can confirm whoosh does not help with fingerprint resistance.

I think it depends on the person. I tend to have dry hands so it helps with fingerprint resistance, my sister has clammy hands and it doesn't help as much for her. The thing I liked about it is that it cleans the bacteria off the phone, the fingerprint resistance is just the cherry.

I guess i just am not picky, but whenever my screen gets dirty (fingerprints or dust) I just wipe it on my shirt. No big deal to me.

Would Whoosh work on top of a plastic screen protector? (I'm mostly concerned with fingerprints etc.)

you won't get anything better or closer than butter. That will give you the best buttery smooth feel you can get. I'll eat a hat if you find anything buttery smoother than butter and don't say that I can't believe its not cause its not.

I prefer the 30-30-30 method for cleaning the iPhone:

Back up phone
Turn off power
30 minutes in the dish washer
30 minutes in the washing machine
30 minutes in the dryer
Drive to apple store
Tell apple you would like to complete the iPhone polishing procedure
Pay the apple care+ "polishing" fee
restore phone

Boom! Good as new!

(this technique even removes the worst of scratches)

I don't have a screen protector on my IPad but do have a MIME glass protector on my iPhone 6+. I've been on the hunt for the best wax that reduces fingerprints and makes them easy to wipe away. I've tried a bunch of things from Invisible Glass to Turtle Wax Ice to RainEx to Granite Gold polish.

Invisible Glass - great for cleaning but no polish effect
Turtle Wax Ice - nice buttery feel but collects dust and lint
RainEx - not bad but not as smooth as the others
Granite Gold Polish - tops for the best buttery smooth feel and easy to wipe away prints. You don't need much - just a couple of drops and buff it shiny.

I can't say if any of these remove the oleophobic coating already on the screen so use at your own risk.

Just figured I'd share with anyone that wants a wicked smooth screen.

I use Rain-X on my iPhone and my MacBook Pro screen. What a difference. Yes, both come with a factory coating. But factory coatings wear off too. In fact, the biggest difference between the factory coating and Rain-X isn't how effective it is but how long it lasts. I wouldn't treat a brand new device because you're just replacing one coating with another... but as soon as you notice it's not as slick anymore give it a shot!
