Just ordered mine! How hard is it to install since I only got one and am scared I will mess up.

BSE has sent me one simple back and front skin to review for my site, is it a super easy install (in comparison to say IS) and how easy is it to get bubbles out? Also is there a lot of orange peel effect?

Simple back - Very very easy to install
Front skin - I'd say very easy to install :p

The bubbles go out after a couple of days if you somehow managed to catch some beneath the skin. But so far using a squeegee (or a credit card) will do the trick.

Orange peel effect - Haven't used it for a long time so I'm not sure yet

I just applied a simple back last night...first time I've ever used a skin like this (my 2G iPhone went naked pretty much the whole time I used it).

Install was pretty easy. Made sure to thoroughly clean the back of my 3G S. I just used a shallow bowl w/ the water + soap, washed my hands, wetted my fingers in the solution, dipped the simple back in the solution, shook off excess solution & applied it. I didn't have problems w/ air bubbles. I remembered from tinting car windows back in the day, it is best to squeegy from the center out. The corners took a bit of work...I waited until the skin had been on for at least 10 minutes, then held down the corners, running my index finger around the corners for about 10 minutes. I let it sit and then every few minutes for the next half hour, I ran my index finger over each corner to make sure the skin adhered to the corners. I'm happy with the result, now more than 24 hours later

OK. I just ordered two 1-piece backs (not the simple one). I have never applied one, so I ordered two because I know the first one will go to waste. I don't have a spray bottle. Is a paper towel ok?

Edit: I also have a LCD screen cleaner. Would this work? It was $20 for a small bottle. :O

The edges will be scratched with the simple back piece. For full protection, I'd recommend the bodyguardz.

Sounds like its a pretty easy install then. Sweet. Mine should arrive sometime in the middle of the week, i'll update how it goes.

I know other companies would send you replacements for life (some if you send the defects, some by request). Does BSE have the same policy? It'll be the tipping point for me. :)

Not the same policy, but I emailed them asking about replacemets due to disoloration and they asked for my invoice number.

Nah, too expensive. BSE is the same stuff just cheaper. I have used Body Guardz, Invisible Shield and BSE.

BY FAR BSE has the best cuts, and the company is fast to take care of any problems and even faster shipping you the goods. Not to mention they simply have the best cuts to stay on the device, no annoying flaps that peel up etc.

I will promote BSE every chance I get, I've installed easily 30 skins at this point and by far BSE is the best.

I do not understand why anyone would pay 20+ for a skin when you can get it for a little under 10 bucks.

Oh and have fun with the Zagg lifetime warranty. First of all you have to pay shipping, then you have to ship your **** back to them, then you have to wait forever because they are slow as molases in January to ship. So that 4 bucks in shipping you pay for a few bucks more you get the same thing and MUCH faster. And if you have a legitimate problem BSE will take care of you. They have replaced skins for me no questions asked with any slight issues I have had.

I'll quote Tommy Boy..it sort of fits here...

"Tommy Boy "Here's the way I see it, Ted. Guy puts a fancy guarantee on a box 'cause he wants you to feel all warm and toasty inside. Because they know all they solda ya was a guaranteed piece of ****. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time."

I've used all three companies as well. The last time I used BSE was for the 2g iPhone though so they may have improved their cuts from then, I'll definitely give them a try next time. The only downside I see in BSE is that the skin turns yellow quicker than the other skins.

Well I have a black phone so I've never had the yellowing problem, but I see no reason why BSE would yellow any faster than any other skin.

How do you know this?

Bodyguardz is a little different (hardly) but IS and BSE feel identicle.

Hmm, I have thought several times about ordering from BSE.
Currently am using bodyguardz, and corners are already peeling after 2 weeks.

Does anyone know if the corners stay on better with BSE? If not, I should probably try out the simple back.

I have the BSE and the corners are peeling after only 2 days. Of course, YMMV.

You applied it poorly. Sorry to be blunt, but you did.
Ive applied MUCH harder ones. 2 T-mobile G1 installs (which come in 5-6 pieces) and a few blackberry ones. This relatively easy iPhone install just didn't work for me. Maybe i did apply it poorly, but all i know is that ive had enough experience. The corners are just too extreme on the iPhone to make it "perfect".

I have to disagree 100% I have done so many Iphones it's almost ridiculous. Each and every install has been perfect, and with BSE it is ALWAYS perfect on the corners thanks to how they cut the film.

My current 3GS install has been on for 3 weeks now. In cases, out of cases, in my pocket, in pouches, at the gym and the corners are flat and flawless. My 3G lasted 6 months before I opted to go with a Slider, which I hated after a while then put a skin back on, the second time I used an Invisible Shield, which DO use terrible flaps that do come up. Because Zaggs cuts suck IMO. The corner flaps they use are too narrow and long and peel up in a very short amount of time.

Yes, the at first the Iphone skins of any brand are a bitch to install, but if you do it properly and with the tips I have posted in this forum, it's very simple to get a perfect install.
