Best stylus?

New to forum..not sure if this is proper. On the question of stylus, do the caps on ANY of them post. For non pen nuts, that is when you remove the cap, can it be put on the other end and stay there, either by screwing on or pushing on without damage? This is important, because when I use the ink pen end I don't want to have to set it aside and then lose it. And stylus without an inkpen, just means I have to carry the stylus and an inkpen.
Thanks for any help.

With the Adonit Jot Pro, you can unscrew the cap and screw on the non-stylus end.

You look like you are asking two different questions there....

For a pen/stylus combo, I can't answer you as I don't own any personally.

For a straight stylus, the iFaraday line has a few (if not all) that come with a cap that "posts" onto the other, non-stylus end. I have an RXII model that does this. The cap is just a cheap plastic one but it works.

For the Adonit Jot Pro, the cap screws onto the stylus end, and when not in use, screws onto the opposite end as well. So you can always keep it on the stylus.

Hope that helps.

^^ The rubber tipped 'nibs' do wear out after heavy use, although the cheaper ones can rip/tear with even casual use in my experience. The cheap ones you just pitch, the more expensive ones (Bamboo) you can buy replacement nibs for (but those can be hard to find).

The Jot Pro is a little unique in that it has a small circular disc attached to the ball point. That doesn't wear out in my experience, but it can get damaged and require replacement. I bought two replacement discs for mine and have yet to use either of them.
Ok thanks a lot friend for the explanation.
So I take it as the Jot Pro is more or less like what you would DIY in a stylus. I saw a video on youtube of some asian guy doing it by using foiling paper (or whatever, forgot the name of it; what you would use in the kitchen to wrap food and is conductive), a simple pen and a plastic disk like you mention.

So if one would be real careful, would you dare to say the Jot Pro then would "never" need a replacement, right?

I find it terribly annoying that I can wrest my hand on the screen to draw or write, as it multitouch treats it as a touch on the display.
I remember seeing a youtube video of a guy painting on the iPad and he'd just use thin gloves, so to avoid conductivity and allowing to rest the palm freely.

I've been lucky so far and have had none of the skipping issues with my Jot Pro that others have mentioned, so I've not had to hack it with a piece of foil or by injecting any conductive grease into the fitting. I do, however, take the disc off once a week or so and just clean it with a q-tip and alcohol. That seems to be the cause of the issue with skipping. It gets dirt/dust in there and that breaks the conductivity between the disc and the ball point/joint of the stylus itself.

As for wrist wrest....many apps give you an adjustable "dead zone" that solves that issue via software. Most of the note-taking apps do this out of the box.

They're all the same, limited by capacitive touch. All the pens are blobby if you know what I mean. You won't get fine tip accuracy with any of them.

If you want accurate handwriting buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. Wacom digitizer, 255 levels of pressure and ballpoint pen level accuracy. Designed for handwriting and drawing properly.

And works on the we iPad of course. That one has a battery in it correct?

Some quick pics would be good. Guess I must go to YouTube. Thanks for all the helpful recs.

How well do stylus' work with an Invisible shield (or equivalent product) installed?
