i know.. iknow! a lot of people ARE Disappointed with the minimal upgrades/updates with the MBP... but looking at the bright side...
the prices for the REfurb MBP has dropped dramatically..
the SR MBP 2.4 dropped from 2499 to 1600... a 35% savings!!

with no major change in terms of hardware.. i think, if you're like me who's just an average user.. this is still a STEAL!!

with educational discount one can buy a new Macbook Pro for 1799 and it has same specs like the old one which was for 2499, so buying refurb just 100 bucks lower doesnt make sense!

reg macbooks 850-1050...now that's a steal considering there were minimal upgrades there

Yeah, $1,449 for :

2.2GHz C2D
15.4" screen
2GB memory
120GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive
8600M GT 128MB

isn't too bad in my book.

Definitely! According to Dealmac, there was a MBP model at $1299 (of course sold out very quickly). Probably a 2.16 or 2.33? Still, for anyone thinking of a refurb'd MBP -- I highly suggest you check that page every morning first thing...you never know when the next 'refresh' will be, though Tues/Fri seem to be popular days.

nice price for blackbook

i saw that 1049 price too. good deal for a blackbook. the premium over the whitebook or similar specs is only $50 for refurb. if I didn't just get a used macbook i'd seriously consider it.

Yup, I looked at the refurb page this morning to see the deals and I was very pleased to see the prices but when looking at their graphics card they only have 128mb of graphics card memory so I am gonna wait till summer when these new mbp are at a very cheap refurb price.

i waited too long... i'm giving myslef 4 hours to decide..
my condition for waiting for the new MBP was a full Hardware overhaul.. but since only the innards were updated.. i'll just save my money.

i was actually in the store earlier.. about to buy the macbook mid range.. and then i saw the LED screen of the MBA... that got my attention... and held me back.

$1299 - even if it is a 2.16 - is a VERY good deal. The 2.16 will do most people very nicely. Mine's a 2.33, and it does everything I want it to.
