Best way to setup Gmail on iPhone 4?

I have my email setup using exchange/push. When i'm offline, it is very limiting and I also get multiple error messages. Anybody know how to fix this?

I keep hearing about people saying they can't delete mail from their iPhone via Google ActiveSync. I do it daily with no problems.

I'd say for you to set it up as stated by Google themselves.

I agree with the poster above. Gmail setup as exchange works best in my opinion due to its push capabilities and contacts backup. Good luck.

What error messages? Can you be more specific?

I'm a business user with 6 gmail accounts setup via exchange. I receive approx 60 to 100 messages per day, every business day. There is no noticeable reduction in battery life as compared to my weekend usage which is just as heavy sans the email. Power management is a strong advantage of iPhones. This is precisely why I'm confident that Apple could equip the phone with a larger display no problem.
