What is the best YouTube app ?
Thanks but I am talking about a app that doesn't show YouTube ads.
It really depends what you expect from a YouTube app.
Two very nice third party YouTube apps are YouPlayer (free, with in-app option) and ProTube for YouTube (2,99 dollar, no ads) which both support Picture in Picture, Slide Over and Split View functionality.
Tubex is the best.
Plays in the background, too.
iPad and iPhone ...
Lot's of Tubex out there, which one?
EDIT: This one?
Can you make Protube your default player for YouTube videos when you click a video link in Safari?
Great question! I would like to know this too!
You can try using an app called opener.
Opener ‒ open links in apps by tijo, inc.
Not quite as seamless as having a default app setting, but it helps some.
Thanks that is really a handy app.
Do you know if this works with iCab Mobile ?
It should work with any app that supports share sheet extensions.
Yeah, that one.
Honestly, it's the best ...
Thats the thing with youtube lots of ads but if you are willing to $9.99 per month you will get youtube red which is ad free.
No thanks will use a ad blocker instead.
Or use ProTube which costs you 2,99 dollar once.
ProTube allow it to play in the background?
Yeah but how offer does the developer update the app incase YouTube changes something again ?
YouTube loves to do this.
I found a bug when I go to view a certain YouTube video I get this error:
"You do not hae permission to access the requested resource. Try the alternative player."
When I click Try the alternative player I then get this error:
"This video contains content from WMG. It is restricted from playback on certain sites. Watch on YouTube."
It use to work fine.
YouTube red is from google itself but yes $9.99 per month subscription.
