Depending on which one you wanna get, the educational discount allows you to get the same price as it would be on Black Friday now?

The 13 inch that is normally $1299.99 is a good deal which is more than the educational discount. One way to get the deal is to find someone who has Elite status since they have first dibs on all, except doorbuster deals, best buy black friday deals one week before black friday at their online store. Otherwise, I am pretty sure the stores will have many in stock as this isn't some product that was mass produced just for Black Friday, it is the entry level 13 inch pro and I am sure you will be able to get it.

Edit: I just realized it is a doorbuster deal sorry. Either way, I don't think they will go out right away.

They should give you their employee discounts, that would be something to trample over someone for no?

I am just kidding of course. Just wait till people start regretting their purchases and send em back to the stores, then you get an open box deal, what is it sometimes it's 40% - 60% off? I got one for my nephews a couple of x-mases ago, open box 13" mbp at 60% off + a dozen add ons like free EPSON printer, 3 years parts/labor etc… Don't do the rush black-Friday mess. Not worth the trouble, unless you like heart-attack enduring drama?

Good luck. Stay well out of debt this Season ya'll.

Word of caution: even though BBY has an extended holiday return period, they have clamped down on its return and exchange policies. They track all returns and exchanges with your driver license / government ID. You could be denied returning your laptop.

I got the same deal tonight but added the college educational discount for another $50. So I paid $1249 for a 13" rmbp with 256gb and 8gb. I think that this is the best current deal.

It is the new 2013 version. I just picked one up for $1249. Triple Best Buy Reward Zone points were also available tonight which is approximately $80 in Best Buy credit.

I'm pretty sure you can't do BTO through BestBuy,only via Apple.

It's all speculation at this point, but signs point to all preconfigured models receiving a discount.

How are some of you getting the haswell 13'' rMBP 2.4, 8gb, 256gb model at $1299?

Are these the current sale prices in best buy stores?

That was the "special sale" price last night from 8:30p-10:00p in-store only.

I somewhat lucked out. I just bought an open-box that they had of the 8/256 13" rMBP ME865LL/A. Listed as "excellent" condition and they appear to have discounted it from last night's sale price. Got it for $1131.99 pre-tax. Even if open-box, it can't be that old...to me, worth the savings compared to new for $1499.

The question now is what to do for the warranty. Applecare or squaretrade?

Best Buy has been doing this since 2000 or even before.

They aren't going to give you a hard time unless you come in there and try returning one every week.
