The question now is what to do for the warranty. Applecare or squaretrade?

I've never actually purchased either for MacBooks in the past. Only once I bought AppleCare+ for my previous iPhone 5 and Squaretrade once for my kids' iPod Touches.

I've seen AppleCare for about $180-$185 online for this model MacBook. Squaretrade actually looks to be about $270 with a $30 coupon, but includes accidental drops and spills. I likely will skip the warranty, but if I picked one, wouldn't AppleCare be the better choice for this Retina MacBook Pro?

I read a couple comments on this website that some people are afraid since a lot of the new laptop components are now integrated into the motherboard, they feel the risk is higher than before. If something breaks, then you would have to replace the entire motherboard.
