I took advantage of this great deal. I've heard about BestBuy being extremely slow when processing online orders. Mine is still processing since last Wednesday.

Does anyone know where BestBuy ships their Apple products from? Could it be the nearest store/warehouse or are they done from a third-party provider?

13 inch Macbook Pro Retina 8gig/256ssd.

Sale: $1,424.99

Apply Student discount $150 (Applies to all macbooks)
$1274.98

After taxes for me $1335.

A steal if you ask me!

Does anybody know if this bestbuy $150 student discount for macbooks is offered year long? I'm debating waiting until october to purchase just to see if a new one is coming out. If it is updated in october will I be able to use this student discount?

I got a similar deal. My local BB had a rmpb 2.4/8/256 open box for $1296. I used the 150 student discount bringing it to 1146 before taxes. They aren't supposed to let you use the student discount with open box items but I had no issues. Felt I got a really good deal on a great machine!

Boy sounds like you were really lucky! I am looking to use the coupon on an open box too and tried it online but it wouldn't work. How did you get them to accept it in store?

Either print the coupon or just have the barcode from the email on your phone. Go to computers and tell the associate that they have an open boxed Macbook Pro you want to purchase(be very specific as to the model you want because they typically don't know anything about them). They will get it and either meet you at the register or hand it to you to take to the register.

When they scan it and the total comes up, just hand them the coupon or pull up your phone and tell them you have a coupon. Their system absolutely accepts the coupon on open boxed items so you shouldn't have any issues unless your cashier just happens to be "one of those" people lol. 9 out of 10 employees don't even know about the student discount, let alone that you aren't supposed to apply it to open box items. Generally they will just scan any coupon you hand them and press total.
