Im going to buy a MB from bestbuy and was just wondering if anybody knows about he service plans. I think they offer 4 different plans, two 3 year plans and two 2 year plans. I know the MB also comes with a 1 year apple warranty. Should i invest in a bestbuy plan and if so which one? Thanks

I just bought a Macbook from my local Apple store and there's no way I'm going to get Apple care. All it really does for you is give you support beyond 90 days. If there's a problem, I can take it into the store and they'll give me help at the Genius Bar if I really need it. I'm insuring it under my homeowners' policy with State Farm. If I drop it...if it breaks...I get it fixed and the insurance pays for it with no deductible. All this for $30 a YEAR. I think it's the best deal out there.

AppleCare for sure

I've enevr had any luck with any retailer EXCEPT Apple. I just went in to an Apple Store, was seen exactly at my appointment time and was given a replacement battery right away. If you are anywhere an Apple Store, get AppleCare. BTW, AppleCare is the ONLY extended warranty that Consumer Reports recommends for ANY computer manufacturer. Their tech support is also #1 in the industry.

Another note: American Express covers a lot of things if you purchase on their card which may help.
