Seriously? Check two replies back and see my solution. Pretty easy and works perfectly! No brains or programming skills required.

Those didn't work for me, nothing did until I deleted the ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist then relaunch Finder, and then selected the menu item, "View Toolbar," the Sidebar and Toolbar appear! Previously, View Tab Bar, View Sidebar, New Tab were all greyed out so the scripts weren't doing anything.
