I have it on my main phone, and for a first beta its been surprisingly smooth. I havent had a single crash yet, only some apps that are not launching (banking apps).

Also have watchOS 9 running, and the only bug I have encountered so far is Rain complication not working.

I jumped on it after reading it was pretty solid. I have experienced no issues, yet, on my 13PM. But it can vary between users.

If you install it, remove profile afterwards so you don't automatically install beta 2 without reading reviews and status. It is common as previous stated that beta 2 - 3 could break stuff.

In all honesty, this is the firs time a new OS beta 1 has been this smooth though.

I’ve had issues with phone calls. Everything else seems to be working perfectly for me but when I make a phone call people hear me speak but I can’t hear them.

I’m using the eSim and I’m in the UK, I’ve also reported this as feedback.

It’s pretty solid for me. I’d never guess it was Beta 1. I’ve been using it on my main device since Monday and haven’t run into issues that would cause me to jump back to iOS 15. All of my apps are working fine and battery life on the 13PM is still good.

This is why I stopped beta’s. My banking apps and ledger apps wouldn’t open and didn’t seem to updated until the last minute. Just not worth it to me

I always install it on my primary phone, and I can say at least this year iOS 16 first beta is surprisingly stable. Make sure you read through the thread for which apps have bugs (I have only run into problems with Microsoft Teams, it crashes constantly), but most things are running without issues.

Did you do a encrypted backup? How’s battery life? Thinking of updating my 11 but don’t have access to a PC to do the backup.

It is mostly stable. I’m finding the most problematic to be the Music app. It crashes constantly.
Other than that, battery life. My phone is an SE 2nd gen so it wasn’t that great anyway.

Against common knowledge, I am thinking of getting the Beta on my main phone. How stable is it so far?
I have some touch issue here and there and occasionally slowdown from Apple Music, but all in all quite good.

Think I’ll wait it out too. Out all day Saturday and prob need battery to last about 12 hours. iPhone 11

I always put betas on my main phone.
Best way to give the OS a proper evaluation is to use it as you normally would.
I make a backup before hand and of course have a restore image ready, just in case the beta is trash.
Only real issue I've found so far is Slack not working. Corporate settings seem to think my phone is jailbroken.
I don't rely on Slack, so it's fine for now.

That’s interesting cause my company uses slack and I’ve had no issues

The main issue I have with iPhone betas is always my banking apps not working, and I am scared that a critical app like ride-hailing or food delivery may not work when I need it to. I also had a bad experience with travelling overseas while my iPhone 5s was running the iOS 9 beta, which caused severe battery drain the entire trip.

So I am still okay with running a beta software on my iPad (especially since public betas are typically more stable), but my phone is off limits.

Slack offers various levels of security for corporate clients.
Ours is fairly strict, although I could use the 15.x betas without issue, but iOS 16 is not on their approved version list.

I had the same issue. Disabling Wifi-Calls in the settings did it for me

Everything else runs nearly perfect...

If you know hot to get back to iOS 16 if anything goes wrongs, have backups (iOS and elsewhere for your data) then why not?

I installed iOS 16, noticed that Slack wasn't working for my Company's setup, and 60 minute later I was back in iOS 15.5 like if nothing had happened. There is always the chance of bricking it, but I think those chances are slim these days and is very easy to revert.
