I ended up installing it on my iPad last night. install went fine and the only issues ive had is I had a hard time getting cellular to work. I ended up having to delete the sim and re activate a new esim. The only other issue is that the volume slider in control panel doesn't seem to work or if it does its extremely laggy. otherwise for a B1 its been really good. performance is fine and all of my apps seem to be working as they should. The cellular issue I had has made me hold off a little on installing it on my iPhone as I need that to work all the time.

I don't have a cellular version of iPad so sorry to hear that. I have zero issues on any and all devices running this inital build.

Ive heard that other people haven't had any issues either. that just shows you how variable these betas are especially in the early days.
Not just beta software, even normal software, you never know where you're going to fall until you just upgrade and use the current operating system, programs etc.

I feel like battery life is somewhat worse on my 13 Pro Max. In the battery stats I see a ton of Weather background usage, I'm wondering if that's due to the home screen widgets.

Find My background activity completely drained my 3rd gen iPad Pro after a day but I don't think it's been an issue since then.

I've had a stuttering keyboard a few times using the message app on my iPad Air but apart from that no real problems so far. I think the new multitasking is a big improvement.

My battery life has been mediocre on my 13 pro… but it is a beta, which is to be expected. It appears that my mail app tends to be the culprit (using all of the battery).

So I finally caved and installed it on my 12 Pro. So far no issues. ive noticed that its a little warmer than usual and the battery seems to be draining faster but it could be indexing or something plus ive been on it a fair amount since installing. Its also B1 so im not that surprised. seems like every year we have that one beta thats great then another that absolutely hammers the battery.

Game performance and battery life were terrible on my 12 Pro Max... But my battery health is 86% so maybe that's the reason. Anyway, I had to go back to 15.5.

After trying it on iPhone 13 Pro for a week, I downgraded to iOS 15.5. The phone overheats very often and correspondingly, the battery drains quickly. I saw overheat warning often, which is not good for the phone's battery health.

Some apps tend to cause it to overheat more quickly than the others, but there's no clear pattern.

Performance has been okay so far but my battery has gone to s***. im giving it a few more days to see of B2 is out and if not im going to downgrade

I already downgraded. It was fine to try out, but I didn't want to rely on its stability. Besides, I use Teams and it is unusable on iOS 16.

Did a DFU restore with the iOS 16 beta ipsw and set up as new, now my phone isn’t warm anymore.

One nice thing about iOS over Android is the ability to make a full backup. Saves a lot of time.
Yup I made one just in case! It's better to make a backup you probably won't need than needing a backup and not having one, or so it goes.

The only things I really notice in my daily work flow are ...

  • battery life is bad on my iPhone 12 Pro Max (to be expected from an early beta) but standby time actually seems better than on iOS 15 to me!
  • swipe down on the springboard to reveal spotlight lags. The "Search" bar gets stuck at the bottom of the screen for a split second before moving up to reveal the keyboard. Not a big deal.
  • The wallpaper settings do not work correctly. I am sure this will be fixed in an upcoming beta as those changes are fairly new
  • Sudden frame drops (is that the right term?) on my games. I actually had stop playing on the device because it makes me dizzy. However, Apps are obviously not yet updated to fully support iOS 16.
That is actually about it. Probably there is more but again, this is simply based on how I use my phone
