My iPhone X gets hot doing normal things to the point that my screen sometimes dim down. More demanding games are now throttling. I used to play Rocket League on 60 fps, not it goes down to ~40 fps after a while with a dimmed screen. Battery life is probably 20-25% less than before.

I've had the beta for 4 days and I'm planning on reverting back to iOS 15 if the next beta doesn't get performance improvements. Does anyone know when we can expect beta 2?

Has anyone downloaded the beta without the encrypted backup of iOS 15 on iTunes ? Don’t have access to iTunes to do it…only thing stopping me using the beta.

I did. However, all the stuff I need on the iPad with the beta is synced to cloud so it doesn't matter if I just nuke it in case things don't work out. I do have access to iTunes though so I can still revert to 15 if needed.

Lock screen needs some work. Sometimes the widgets don't show up for a while or it slows a black bar where the widgets are at. The miniplayer in the lock screen is unresponsive, half of the time it doesn't register when I press the play/pause button or when I need move the slider.

Could I revert back simply by erasing all content and using iCloud back up? I wouldn’t iCloud backup whilst on 16.

That’s iffy. iCloud backup is automatic and if you disable iCloud backup while on the beta, it might delete your existing iOS 15 backup.

I tested on my 12 pro max for 6 days and downgrade to 15.6 beta which is more stable and battery efficient.

Problems faced other than battery were camera lag which was randomly slow to open (black screen for 15 sec sometimes till it opens).
Weather running on location was a battery killer which forced me to cancel weather on location and select manual location.

Let's hope next beta shall iron out all of the bugs reported.

On iPhone X it's very bad. Battery life has degraded significantly and the phone gets so warm, ESPECIALLY when editing the lock screen for some weird reason... I would avoid it for now on older devices.

A Beta 2 was released today. It may address the battery life issue, but then again, way too early in the beta stage to expect optimal performance.

I'll be happy has long as the Weather app isn't draining the battery with background activity in beta 2.
