Does void your warranty thou.
Please stop spreading misinformation. Jailbreaking does NOT "void your warranty," and I would know because I've had my iPhone 3G replaced several times while jailbroken, as well as my old iPod touch. They will likely refuse to accept your phone for replacement if your issue is software-related and they see a Cydia icon on your fully themed Springboard, but a quick restore takes care of that. In my case, I didn't even bother restoring - I simply disabled themes, hid a few icons using SBSettings/Poof, and that was it. My iPhone was/is still under warranty, because jailbreaking does NOT void your warranty.

I think you need to read the T&Cs.

If its not invalidating your warranty why then can you just leave the jailbreak software on?? Is it because it invalidates your warranty, if it is seen?

Also check this out, hope it goes through.

I think you misunderstood. I have left my iPhone/iPod touch jailbroken when I had them replaced, several times. It didn't void my warranty. ;)

As for the legal **** Apple is trying to pull, I think every company has the right to protect their IP, but I'm glad to see such (relative) heavyweights as Mozilla and Skype standing up to Apple on this issue. Apple may be trying to make jailbreaking illegal, but it's not illegal now. Which is the point I was making.

I wasnt making the point that jailbreaking was illegal now? But in the UK it voids your warranty as you are tied to one network provider and they only want you using them, the reason you got replacements was due to "hiding" your jailbreak as you explained. How can you say its every companies right to protect their IP, is that supposed to be a joke?

Just so you dont get confused I know its technically legal.
