I'm not taking SexExchange off the hook though. They quoted a higher price and refused to honor it by insisting the condition was not as per quoted. Sounds like a real scam outfit.

Thats your problem though, you started bidding at $350 and also depends on how long you had an account with ebay and your feedback score.
I started mine at 99 cents with no reserve and let it go from there. A week later it sold nice. It didnt get past $300 untill the last few minutes of the auction and then everyone attacked it

True, you can figure out alot of things about any topic with 10 minutes of Googling.
But instead of finding the info yourself within seconds people like to post threads and asking for others to hold their hand
Jailbreak and unlock it first. Do a 3 day auction, listing it at 99 cents with a reserve of $400.
I got $454 for my black 3GS (also a refurb 32GB) this way.
The refurb units only use internal components that have already been used. The enclosure and screen are brand new.
OP: Sell your iPhone on craigslist. I listed my 32GB 3GS for $300, and sold it the next day. A lot of the people who wanted to buy it were just going to unlock/ship it elsewhere, but there were at least 4 people who contacted me within 12 hours that wanted to legitimately buy and use the phone
Beans and cheese! leave the poor guy alone. I once sold a baby for an iPhone... if the guy wants to buy a got down cell phone while unemployed, who the hell made any of you Queen of got down England?! And those companies paying you for your iPhone to sell them for profit are parasites, as far as I'm concerned. I sold my 16GB 3GS on eBay for $450 and they know that (I wrote them a letter and told them so), so they offer you half... bull scissors!

First off, lets look at the big picture here!
1.) Your slandering a company's name and reputation all over the simple fact that during your time of unemployment, OBVIOUSLY your going to feel or at least have high hopes that your going to receive an offer of which YOU think its worth to you as opposed to accepting the non-bias opinion of a professional evaluator/tester who's job is not aiming to make money off of your phone, but to make money based on what they have been trained to look for cosmetically as well as the functionality of the equipment thats being checked and tested.
2.) As for being OCD like your claiming to be...for someone who is NEEDING MONEY...I can almost bet that you didn't care to spend any extra MONEY to ensure your phone was PACKAGED PROPERLY with all the right materials such as a box thats at least 6 inches all the way around the origional box you phone was place in (if it even was in a box), using bubble wrap or "Pop Corn" packaging material packed well enough so that when its ready to be shipped it was securely packed tight enough you threw that box like it was a football to your friend Billy who's half a block away being satisfied and "OCD" confidently ok with turning around and not even caring to look away from the throw itself...KNOWING that little Billy can't catch if he tried...but you didn't care because YOU packed and shipped it properly.
I've worked in warehouses all my life and if you've ever seen how stress out the delivery drivers can get if they ever have to wait longer than normal time that their company estimates it should take to complete their route? Either the driver dumps it in the building where ever not caring about whether or not he just tossed an unmarked poorly packaged box that has been tossed from dock to dock, or ended up being stacked on a pallet which may had larger boxes that weighed more than the what it now the crushed box that your poorly packed "Baby" was inside of....
Also, as OCD as you think you would have been to not only evaluate the cosmetic appearence of the phone, the packaging to ensure safe shipment of it, but also the insurance that it'll arrive to the destination in the exact condition as it was when you shipped it...not the main box, but the phone itself. Shipping insurance you can buy for a few dollars more to insure up to a certain amount for the item shipped in case something happens and the courier is at fault. So those few extra pennies you were pinching may have been what cost you $100 price difference on what was offered to you.
As for the unemployment part...been there and I just came out of it, but while I was in it...I sure as hell didn't point the finger at anyone else as for being the one to blame for things I wasn't happy about with myself. You live and you make mistakes and hopefully learn from them. Own up and take some responsibility for your own actions as for why your unemployed. You could be on craigslist or some other site with job postings on it looking for a JOB...instead of trying to waste time on trying to make yourself feel better by posting this thread and waiting for people to reply to it instead of employers replying to your RESUME! Sounds like someone that works or operates that website IMO.
But either way, the OP and most people out there should expect similar tactics from various sites like that.
What they do is buy your phone for cheap and then sell it on ebay or CL for a profit thats all.
