So you're on unemployment yet your out spending money for a phone when you clearly didn't need a new one?
Just for my own amusement, I visited Cexchange.com.
-----cut------
I just call it like I see it. Did I misunderstand something?
Hope you can sell it on Craigslist or eBay for what you need.
I did. No one but scammers contacted me from CL. And no one on eBay bid on my auction (I did end it early though-I started bidding at $350 and no bids within 12 hours of auction finish).
I sold my 1 year old 16GB 3GS model for $375 on ebay.
Thats your problem though, you started bidding at $350 and also depends on how long you had an account with ebay and your feedback score.
I started mine at 99 cents with no reserve and let it go from there. A week later it sold nice. It didnt get past $300 untill the last few minutes of the auction and then everyone attacked it![]()
Agreed. People need to learn how Ebay works or stop trying to use it.
![]()
Exactly.
It takes a while figuring out how, what and why to do things and how to post them, when, pics, descriptions and with what auction options etc...
Yep.
By the way, the majority of the important tips I have learned about Ebay were learned with about 10 minutes of Googling.
You are awesome! Friends?Just for my own amusement, I visited Cexchange.com. I only get a $187.43 valuation on an iPhone 3Gs in perfect condition. Then, I went to the Cexchange FAQs that state that if their price is different from their original appraisal In this situation we will send you an email with our revised appraisal, based on what we received. At that point you can choose to accept our revised offer and receive prompt payment on it, or we will return your items to you free of charge. Where did they lie?
What about you? If your old posts are true, you said you bought a GoPhone, put in your old SIM, and used it between the time you sent your old iPhone off and getting the iPhone 4. Once you got your iPhone 4, you had no qualms returning it to the store after you didnt need it anymore. Its called a fraudulent return, no different than the girl who buys a dress, wears it to the party, and returns it the next day.
Your actions affect all of us. Now, the retailer is left holding the bag for the merchandise you bought knowing you were going to return it. Its people like you who cause the restocking fees the rest of us have to pay for legitimate returns.
You say that your unemployment benefits ran out and you need the money from the sale of the old phone. You dont need a lecture from me or anyone else on how to spend your money when you are on unemployment compensation. Its your money to do with what you will.
OTOH, you wont get sympathy from me over $181.12 because your unemployment $$$ ran out. In the last couple of months, you purchased a MacBook and an iPhone 4 (and upgraded at a premium ($499) because you are not eligible until next year). From my side of the keyboard, it looks irresponsible.
I just call it like I see it. Did I misunderstand something?

That doesn't make them liars.
It simple means they disagree with you on the condition of your phone.
Gazelle has done the same thing.
It is a business deal. They offer you a price on an expected appearance of the phone. Your phone did not meet their criteria, so they will send it back.
They did not lie to you or defraud you. Don't be so hostile.
Plus it is a refurb unit so I am not sure how you can claim it is pristine.
First off, lets look at the big picture here!
Your slandering a company's name and reputation all over the simple fact that A.) Your unemployed at the time you sent in your phone. B.) As for someone who's unemployed, your OBVIOUSLY going to as the owner of the phone, going to want to receive as much money that YOU think its worth as opposed to the opinion of a professional evaluator/tester.
C.) As OCD as you say you might be...for someone who is NEEDING MONEY...I can bet that you didn't care to spend any extra MONEY to ensure your phone was PACKAGED PROPERLY with the right materials such as an over sized box was used thats bigger than the one the phone was put inside of (if it even was in a box) using bubble wrap or "Pop Corn" packaging material packed well enough so that when its ready to be shipped if you threw that box like it was a football to your buddy half a block away, your disorder of which you say you suffer from would have been satisfied with turning around and looking away from the throw itself...even KNOWING that little Billy can't catch for **** anyway...but you didn't care because YOU packed and shipped it properly.
I've worked in warehouses all my life and if you've ever seen how fast some of the carriers who deliver try to hurry up and deliver to each stop so that they're not finally getting home after midnight or later. Only to get a few hours of sleep and have to do it all over again the next morning...
On the carriers own shipping/receiving docks, they're tossing boxes left and right. Either to be stacked on a pallet of which may have a HEAVY box that may just crush the box YOU packed your little "Baby" inside of....
Now, if you were seriously OCD...you'd think you would have at least learned about proper shipping and insurance you can buy up to a certain value for honestly just a few dollars more. Cause those few pennies you were pinching may have been what cost you over $100 on what was offered to you. So think about that one folks...
As for the unemployment part...been there and I just came out of it, but while I was in it...I sure as hell didn't point the finger at anyone else as for being the one to blame for things I wasn't happy about with myself. You live and you make mistakes and hopefully learn from them. Own up and take some responsibility for your own actions as for why your unemployed. You could be on craigslist or some other site with job postings on it looking for a JOB...instead of trying to waste time on trying to make yourself feel better by posting this thread and waiting for people to reply to it instead of employers replying to your RESUME! Hell, I only created an account just now after looking up to see about selling a few phones I have and this was the first few listings on google with BAD COMMENTS about CEXCHANGE.com
You sir may be OCD, but I'm a big skeptic...so I'll let you know as the days pass as for how it goes. Either way, the value after buying a cellphone is similar in comparision to if you were to be buying a car in a sense, because before you could drive it off the dealership's parking lot its value had already dropped before you could finish lifting up the ballpoint part of the pin that you had used for your signature to buy it!
Wow! Great first post dude! Flaming a guy from a thread from 7 months ago.![]()
im glad he did. i read over this thread and i laughed my ass off.
havent seen a *****torm like this in awhile
What makes me mad is I am paying taxes for peoples unemployment checks and they are given so much that they can afford iPhones...
First off, lets look at the big picture here!
1.) Your slandering a company's name and reputation all over the simple fact that during your time of unemployment, OBVIOUSLY your going to feel or at least have high hopes that your going to receive an offer of which YOU think its worth to you as opposed to accepting the non-bias opinion of a professional evaluator/tester who's job is not aiming to make money off of your phone, but to make money based on what they have been trained to look for cosmetically as well as the functionality of the equipment thats being checked and tested.
2.) As for being OCD like your claiming to be...for someone who is NEEDING MONEY...I can almost bet that you didn't care to spend any extra MONEY to ensure your phone was PACKAGED PROPERLY with all the right materials such as a box thats at least 6 inches all the way around the origional box you phone was place in (if it even was in a box), using bubble wrap or "Pop Corn" packaging material packed well enough so that when its ready to be shipped it was securely packed tight enough you threw that box like it was a football to your friend Billy who's half a block away being satisfied and "OCD" confidently ok with turning around and not even caring to look away from the throw itself...KNOWING that little Billy can't catch if he tried...but you didn't care because YOU packed and shipped it properly.
I've worked in warehouses all my life and if you've ever seen how stress out the delivery drivers can get if they ever have to wait longer than normal time that their company estimates it should take to complete their route? Either the driver dumps it in the building where ever not caring about whether or not he just tossed an unmarked poorly packaged box that has been tossed from dock to dock, or ended up being stacked on a pallet which may had larger boxes that weighed more than the what it now the crushed box that your poorly packed "Baby" was inside of....
Also, as OCD as you think you would have been to not only evaluate the cosmetic appearence of the phone, the packaging to ensure safe shipment of it, but also the insurance that it'll arrive to the destination in the exact condition as it was when you shipped it...not the main box, but the phone itself. Shipping insurance you can buy for a few dollars more to insure up to a certain amount for the item shipped in case something happens and the courier is at fault. So those few extra pennies you were pinching may have been what cost you $100 price difference on what was offered to you.

Out of curiosity did they ship the phone back, lol.

You work for cexchange.com, don't you?
Is there any other reason why he would drag up a thread thats over 7 months old, and then only to disagree with the OP?
