Both Beyoncé and the watch look great. It really looks good on her. Then again, what doesn't look good on Beyoncé?

I don't mind the celebrities having watches I can't afford.

To quote another celebrity, Lorde:

"My friends and I we've cracked the code
We count our dollars on the train to the party
And everyone who knows us knows that we're fine with this
We didn't come from money

But every song's like gold teeth, Grey Goose, trippin' in the bathroom
Blood stains, ball gowns, trashin' the hotel room
We don't care, we're driving Cadillacs in our dreams
But everybody's like Cristal, Maybach, diamonds on your timepiece.
Jet planes, islands, tigers on a gold leash
We don't care, we aren't caught up in your love affair

And we'll never be royals (royals)
It don't run in our blood
That kind of lux just ain't for us
We crave a different kind of buzz"

I can afford the 38 mm Stainless steel with sport band and I'm really fine with that. Beyoncé can have her riches. She pays for it in privacy lost and other things I can't even imagine.

It is nice seeing the Apple Watch on a beautiful woman not caught in a raunchy pose or wearing something weird with it. Um okay the peacock feathers are a little weird I guess. Oh well...

I apologize for interrupting YOUR internet.

Actually your awful lowest common denominator bottom of the barrel joke interrupted and ruined all of our internets.

But at least you apologized for it. Thanks.

I get the free advertising thing blah blah blah... But this is so un-Apple.

Apple is about bringing excellence to the masses.

All this freebies to celebs just shows classist contempt for their customers. And if they were doing it just for the advertising, why give out solid gold models that aren't for sale?

Rant over.

(Yes I'm jealous.)

It's called "fashion week" - look at the events they've been hitting - they are NOT marketing to us common techno-lusts

Not all the celebs have them. Sooo... why wouldn't a celeb who WAS given one early NOT post it on Instagram if they like the watch?

I would. LOL.

You know it pissed off her rivals who didn't get offered a watch right away. Which is probably fun for her.

;)

It's no surprise to see special Gold Apple Watches & Bands given out to various high profile types. Nor are these rare. Limited, perhaps initially, but Apple is very experienced with marketing. I'm certain they made a minimum number of specials to give out to be seen.

It's just part of Apple's well calculated plan to stimulate interest. Apple is particularly skilled in the art of influence. They're simply doing what they do to insure the best start for Apple Watch. With Apple's deep pockets they have more power than any other corporation to get all the exposure they could possibly want.

The funny thing is the pecking order - Pharrell gets a rubber band, Beyoncé's is solid gold - hmmmmmmmmmm
